Some time ago I met a friend who did not meet less than ten years and now he's become a fairly well known. We spent quite some time talking about many things, career, romance, work, and others.
But I was quite shocked when he said "my name has changed "... very shocked and confused ... I wonder why? ...
He never answered when I asked the reason why he changed his name? I don't know, maybe he wanted to keep it secrets.
Then there are some questions within me, has he already dissatisfied with his name? embarrassed by the first name he used? or something else, I dunno.
how about you ...
are you satisfied enough with your name?, why?

Even if my last name doesn't sound good to most people and I have a very common first name, I still would not change all of it. I grew up having this name. The thought of changing my name means losing who I am too and not appreciating my parents. So no changing of name for me.

I had my name legally changed about 15 years ago. I had always hated my name. But it took me a very long time to realize that I could do something about it. And, if I could change my name, maybe I could change some other things I did not like about my life. I went to the local courthouse. It is such a rare occurance that nobody they didn't even have the paperwork there. But the job got done.

I don't really like my name very much. It isn't an embarrassing name or ugly & I've never been teased for it; I just don't like it. I don't think it fits me. Like on a scale from 1 to 10 of name satisfaction, 10 being highly satisfied, I'd probably say 7. It's a nice name, just not for me.
I don't know if I'd actually change my name though. I have played around with the idea but I don't know. I think it might be a lot of work to have to tell all my family & friends about my new name & I would imagine many would still call me by my original name & I'd feel really annoyed about it. If anything, I'd rather legally change my middle name (2.5 out of 10) not tell anyone that I had my middle name changed (except my immediate family would know that) & then go by that new middle name of mine.
I think your friend could have had any reason for wanting to change it. Maybe he was embarrassed by it or maybe he wanted to drastically change his personality and/or lifestyle and he felt that by changing his name, it would help him remember he isn't the same person he used to be...at least that's how I feel about wanting to change & then go by my middle name.

It wouldn't have been something I picked for myself if I had been given the choice but I've gotten pretty used to it and wouldn't change it either. It actually never occured to me to change it. You would have to be really dissatisfied to go through all the hassle involved in changing your name anyway and you can't do it until you are 18 at least. Why would anyone bother? So Min8esign, what brings this up? Are you satisfied with YOUR name?

People given good names especially if they're handsome and comely are very fortunate creatures, but for those who have weird or ugly names are less fortunate. Those who don't like their names kept changing for obvious reasons. Criminals changed names to hide, for secrecy or anonymity.
Parents should exercise great care in selecting and giving names to their children. Weird and bad names are usually attached to people during their puberty and adolescent years. When bad or unpleasant names crop up, parents must always be on the guard to stop the tag attached to kids right at the very start.
I can't say I like or dislike my name because I can't do otherwise. But if I were at age when I was baptized, I would have chosen a one-syllable name. How about you?

If you ask me, yes, I am satisfied with my name and I am happy with it. My parents came out with my name by combining their names together and I found this very sweet. I believe that I must be very special because my name is a combination of their name.

I like my name. Despite being common, it is actually convenient especially when I am in a rush and have fill out forms.

I love my name! I was (accidentally) named after a witch from a famous tv show. I was born long after the show stopped airing but it has always been a great conversation starter with people I first meet. I know once I get married I will lose my infamous last name but I have loved every minute and couldn't have wished my parents to pick any other! The first question is usually "can you twinkle your nose?" Can you guess who?

When I was young (in high school), I started hating my name. So I decided to give myself a 'nick name'. It is a variation of my real name. Fast forward 20 plus years, I still use the nick name. So much that it's the name I use at work. It appears on my name card and my emails. It isn't official or legal, but I still prefer that people call me with this name I gave myself.

My first name is simple, short, easy to spell and to pronounce. Add to that, I never had the problem in writing it, may it be in official or non-official documents. I am very satisfied with my name and changing it never crossed my mind. However, I am yet to know why I was given my name or what inspired my parents to give it to me. That I think would be a good topic for a discussion :)

Name does not represent anybody :)
Its who you are in real, your nature, your personality, your heart.
I guess people always like to judge the book by its cover.
I am not fond of my name, though it means White Cloud in English..
But I think I would never change it..
Because this is a gift for me from my parents..
Which i will carry along all my life!!!
This is how I want to be known!!

I don't like my first name but would never change it. I was born on my aunt's birthday and named after her. I loved her very much, but prefer my second name but no one calls me by my second name.
my dad named me after his sister so although I don't like the name
i will stick with it.
