English television is so much better

So proclaimed Dearra when I came home this evening. She had to show me this comedy clip with Dr. Who's David Tennant and Catherine Tate:

So I told her that I would be happy to ship her over to one of my English friends for a visit. Does anybody want an American teenager who has a passion for English TV?
She's fairly lazy, but she does do dishes and pooper scoop (if you happen to have a cat).

You mean she will not pooper scoop for my pet elephant? I can see from things you have posted how Dearra would like "proper British comedy" (imagine my snooty type accent)

That just might do it. And yes, it usually has a battery as well as burning fuel.

She is quite right, a lot of British television is better though I do like American stuff too. We can take her, I can show her all sorts of Doctor Who stuff, and Torchwood, and anything else British she would like. We have BBCAmerica on our channels here after all! And we do have a cat haha.

We have BBCAmerica too, but it isn't nearly enough for her.
(Figures the Dr. Who fan would show up first lol)

I don't blame her at all, theres so much that isn't showed in the US lol. The children in need specials and red nose day stuff are hilarious, even if they are really short. And of course I did, I had to run to answer right away!

My sister has two spare bedrooms but I don't advise living with her. She gets drunk most nights

I haven't heard about these shows, but there's a couple of English shows that I try to follow on Showcase. A favorite in the past was 'Secret diary of a call girl'.
As I respond to this discussion, it is already 9:17pm and there's still a pile of dishes in the sink. Can Dearra pass through here before going to England?

I'm already halfway through this video and I AM LAUGHING!!! The English can get very funny indeed. There are a couple of shows I used to watch on PBS that were just hilarious. Keeping Up Appearances is a great example.
I don't have a cat but she can take Tiny for a walk three times a day and pick up that poop on the spot.

Haaaa! I bet there would be lots of our English friends who would be glad to have an American girl who will pooper scoop! I love that British TV too… there is a show “It’s All About Appearances” or something like that.. it is hilarious!

My grand daughter (13) is into The Big Bang Theory. She is also argumentative, picky about her food, only useful about the house if it's someone else's house (she CAN do dishes, rather than DOES but is really rather good at baking cupcakes, muffins and gingerbread), is used to cats (but hers have a cat door and use the great out yonder).
Maybe we could do a swap (we have plenty of British telly here, of course)?

Do you really want to listen to her complain about how there's nothing to do? :D
