Hi friends, Yeah, this is true Michael Clarke had proved in the last test match against india. He had scored 329(not out) and he has a very good chance to broke the record of Sir Don Bradman 334 only six runs away to achieve that crown but he didn’t because he had gave more importance to winning of team rather than making his records not like Indian team player always give significance to making individual record. I am sure if there is any Indian player in the place of Michael Clarke team won’t declare the inning until and unless that player make the records. So friend what your view about this ?

I too agree with you but not all our players are like that. We too have some greats not only in terms of records but also for sportsmen spirit and love and passion for the game and country. I can only blame BCCI for making cricket a commercial thing than sports and eyeing more on money than developing cricket. Praises for clarke for such a decision but I feel he would have gone to make 400 because then also our batsman would have been all out for about 200-250 before lunch of day 5..

That is exactly what I was saying. Michael Clarke over estimated our batting lineup, thought that it will be too late if he declared after scoring 400. But we didn't reach his expectations and folded out on the 4th day itself. So sad :(

Yeah what you have said is really right. Not only that he had a chance to beat Sir Bradman record, he had a fair amount of advantage to get to cross Lara's record that is 400. He could have achieved it easily in one session taking into consideration the form he is in for this match and Hussey would have easily completed his 200. And they would have easily won the match as well because they would have taken all the 10 Indian wickets in day and half. I guess they have thought too much of our batting so they have declared :). Anyway I observe that the sub continent cricketers give more importance to individual records rather the match result.

What you say seems to be true to some extent...and i'm not denying here that players look at individual records along with team winning. The percentage obviously is higher with India, then Aussie...but Clarke may have had a 2nd thought before declaring due to India's famed batting line up, which might rise to the occassion and deny him a possible victory...

Since INDIA had lost badly so you got frustrated. The individual record are made because a individual play well and he do better than other. considering to this match i don't know why he gaveup. Even he would have made the run the chances of winning was there as INDIAN can get out easily. Team INDIA had also made many scafies like tha in history if you able to research found out. Two the best example was given by previous user and i guess they good one. You better comment on it before think that INDIANS just care on record.

Yeah it is true that they always give more emphasize on team winning. That is why the only record of under arm bowling in entire cricket history is under their belt. By the way as far as I know Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar's innings was also declared when he was on 194* against Pakistan. And Mathew Hayden made 375 to break Brian Lara's record though the team was very much in the position to win before he reached the landmark.
