At one time God was alone. Then God created his first creation which turns out to be the same one who was Jesus Christ on earth. Then together they created angels and later humans. So when God created humans, already there was his special creation, his son Jesus Christ and billions of angels. So God was talking to his Son. Proverbs 8:30 Young's Literal Translation (YLT) 30Then I am near Him, a workman, And I am a delight -- day by day. Rejoicing before Him at all times, John 1:3 (King James Version) 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Colossians 1:16 King James Version (KJV) 16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

But God gives a lot of glory to his first creation, which God calls his son. If we don't honor the Son; we are not honoring the Father.

So you think Jesus was created by God ? What happened with "In the beginning there was Word " ? If Jesus was created it means He has been created before the beginning.

Are we so ignorant to believe that there in only One God? How about many. The Mormons believe that we are all Gods in training. That, through repentance and obedience to the commandments, we all can become as God is. God is perfect and wants us to be as he is, so with that would he not want us to be Gods too? Through his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ they have a plan where we can repent and become worthy to grow and become a God. And there we can create earths and create man, so that man can grow to be a God, too. However, many won't make it and will be damned with their eternal progress stopped. How Great our God is that he can actually create Gods!

As a active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints (Mormons) I agree with this comment completely. The bible is replete with examples of how God the Father has spoken to His Son and a third party known as the Holy Ghost has been all present at the same time. The Bible also says that God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow so why should their be any doubt or misunderstanding. They are 3 distinct beings with one purpose which is bring man back to God

You go a point here. Every drop in the ocean is a part of the ocean, and once the drop realizes this, it becomes the ocean.

The Biblical answer to your question lies in the Trinity. This is the biblical doctrine about God that describes God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. There is one God existing in three persons. All three persons of God are God and all were present not only at creation, but before. Once again, we see that God's word is true and trustworthy, even if it is difficult for our limited minds to grasp. By the way, no human can fully understand the Trinity, but it is clearly taught in scripture.

Could you please tell me where I can find the information on the Trinity in the Bible. I have looked for it and can not find it.

Look here from the life of Saint Spyridon : He reportedly converted a pagan philosopher to Christianity by using a potsherd to illustrate how one single entity (a piece of pottery) could be composed of three unique entities (fire, water and clay); a metaphor for the Christian doctrine of the Trinity. As soon as Spyridon finished speaking, the shard is said to have miraculously burst into flame, water dripped on the ground, and only dust remained in his hand (other accounts of this event say that it was a brick he held in his hand). In the bible the trinity can be found in a simple verse like this "For he spoke, and it came to be " or this "By the word of the Lord the heavens were made".That is the whole trinity.

There are mysteries in the Bible that in our imperfect and finite state can not understand. For these matters that are difficult to understand or can not be understood at all, we need to respond in faith. We are to believe that it is so because God's Word says so. I remember a saying -- "For those who believe, no explanation is necessary but for those who do not believe, no explanation is possible." Deuteronomy 29:29 "The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law." Good day, friend.

Its like saying "Either you are with Us or against US". Give me a choice to ask questions and clear my doubt so I can understand the concept better. Later explain it to my children. I am a true believer and Yes I have questions that needs to be answered.

There are several possible answers - including some that you wont like if you are a Christian. The most common answer is that many languages use the plural form as a sign of respect. In English, royalty referred to themselves by what has come to be called "the royal we". Perhaps the most obvious answer is that there was more than one God. That has been discussed and "proven" by a number of researchers, quoting the Bible itself as the proof. Such research can be found on youtube and is quite interesting if not exactly convincing! So those are just two answers. There are many more possibilities that are sometimes plausible and sometimes not. As the original Bible certainly wasn't written in English, we will never know the real story. In fact there are now many versions of the (English) Bible which probably just adds to the confusion.

I agree with you, may be there are so many versions of Bible and that actual truth behind may be twisted or rather misunderstood by the authors.

There is only one true God the bible does testify to this. In Genesis 1:26 the time of creation many were involved. The creation of the universe and everything in it was not a small task. One of the very first creations, the bible declares were "angels". It is to this that Genesis is referring.

The Bible clearly states the concept of Three in One, also known as the Trinity: "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." I John 5:7 and again in I John 5:8 "And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one."

Interesting question. Some believe that God was talking to some part of himself and as it is impossible to understand such a thought, they say that it is a mystery. Please read John 17th chapter. Here is a quote from New Living Translation but you can of course compare with other translations: "..Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son so he can give glory back to you. 2 For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him. 3 And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth." What do you think? Was Jesus praying to himself? Or was this a prayer to a Person who has the authority to gloify Jesus and give him authority and give him human beings and send him where He wants? Verse 18: "Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world." Jesus also prays for his followers that "they will be united just as we are." (verse 11) The followers of Jesus were certainly not the same person just like the Father and Jesus could not be the same person. So, as the Son was with the Father before the world was created, God must have talked to His Son. There is a lot more in the Bible that explains this, so I suggest you read the Bible every day if you are not doing it already.. And we all should follow the advice of Jesus and keep on praying. We can pray for wisdom to understand the Holy Scriptures and that God will send someone to help us do so. Happy reading!

God consists of three persons: The FAther, The Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each are different aspects of God, but they are all God.

I have forwarded your question to my son who has been commissioned as a missionary and is working to get enough support so that he and his wife will be able to go to East Africa. He has many years of Bible study; when he replies, I will return here to post that reply. My thoughts on this question are: Even in the beginning, there was the Trinity: God, the Father; God, the Son (Jesus) and God, the Holy Spirit - thus the term our was used in the account of the creation. Hopefully, this will help until I get the answer from my son, who will be able to explain it more thoroughly.

I really appreciate your honest answer and willingness to help, I have asked this question to many people, but I never got the right answer. I was even scolded for asking such a question couple of times. But the question remains unanswered.

WOW! I had to look that verse up in my Bible. I couldn't believe it!! So then I got online and found this: http://www.logoslogic.info/Articles/InOurLikeness.pdf The article is a pdf and it has many explanations depending on beliefs. The answer that makes sense to me is on the bottom of the 2nd page - The "us" and "our" refer to God and the word of God, that would later become the Son of God, Jesus. I am a Christian. I completely believe in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and turn to the Bible often. But a lot of it is confusing to me. I don't think anyone has it all figured out!
