I have seen many people who just graduated from university expect to have good job instantly with their education background. Understand really difficult to find new job for everyone in this economic down turn era since job market has already saturated and full of unemployment from ones being retrenched by former company, they have already job experiences and have advantage to compete with those fresh grads. I think they need to build more network on their targeted job, active in alumni organization or something like that. And also add certification from professional training they have not got while studying at university..
What do you think? Any suggestion to solve their problem?

Well I think it's crazy how bad the job markets getting. I know that in Canada you need at least a bachelors degree to have a small chance to get a job. People with master degrees here have a somewhat better chance but most people with bachelors basically are the new high school grads here.

Well, you have good feedback and comments.. I think different situation i nmy country, even master graduate will also find difficulties to find new job unless they have already working experience background. It would be worse since many of them want to accept the job offer for bachelor degree qualification this really terrible for those fresh graduates from bachelor since they will have more competitors..Sometimes the salary rates also not that vary from bachelor and master graduates..
appreciate your response..

i blame the government for that cause they need to create more jobs that the students could go in. the governmentis taking the jobs away from those kids who made their mind up and pay all this money they should make sure its ok.
i know several students who checked searched and checked angain.the government says yes they need them but after they go to collage and spend all that money and know the knowlege for what they wanted to do in their lives they cant do it because the jobs have been axed.not fair to the students who went for the career.
the government and students should get together and diguss why thats happening and they should work together.
its not the students fault that the government is in dept and maybe if they usethem to help them to solve the problem of the students than it might help the government and student out solving the job problem.they just cant keep axing them cause there might be someone being trained for that then the companys wouldnt give them a chance.
i feel that if the government work with companys and give the students who has their degree to let them work and get the exeperience and then the student could help another student and it helps the company and the company helps the government and every one would be happy.

Well, you have good feedback and comments.. I think that would be harder and harder for looking jobs for fresh graduate over there.. I think the one with master degree somewhat having great chance as well, the problem is many of their competitors not only held the master degree but also having experiences since they already working at full time and study in part time basis..It’s getting hard to live in this era, I do not know what happen in the future..
Appreciate your response…

I think in todays climate people have to keep studying and learning, I was made redudbdant from my job a few years ago and I was told the days are gone where people have one job for many years, today and in the future people will have many jobs full time and part time that people will have to be prepared to work at anything and be prepared to do anything regardless of their education and there will always be something new...

Well, you have good points ..I think everyone should always learning no matter how old they are..Even someone who already hired and working in company should always learn to sharpen their knowledge, maybe not formal study but through training or certification and even hands on learning from somebody who has experience in his field. I always doing it since the competition in internal company or if we willing to looks for other jobs has become tougher and tougher these days…appreciate your response..

Adding certifications seems to be a good idea but the problem that I am seeing is, others are also doing the same and in the end, they'll still be competing for the same job. For new graduates, I think they should accept a job even if that is not related to the degree they've finished. This may or may not hurt them in targeting jobs related to their degree but it definitely is better than having nothing at all. Also, I see it as a good opportunity because new grads will be exposed to another industry and learn from it and have their network of knowledge and friends widen. Add to that, this job may be the one best suited for them. New grads may also opt to employing themselves by creating a business of their own. Many young billionaires now are self-made because of the business they've established :)

Well, you have good points, we can not imagine the competition on job market out there.. with so many certificate holders and experience workers looking to jump from their current employer..Fresh graduates will always has problem if they really keen to work on their major since will be difficult to wait or compete if really has this objective. Alternatively, like you said that we must be creative and many billionaires out there also not working in big company but they create and develop own business.. Although not easy but still better than wait and wait the job offers that never come out…appreciate your response..

Job opportunities are quite hard to find right now even for those who are experienced so how much more if you are a newly graduate? Most job postings require at least 1 to 2 years experience. If I were a newly graduate right now, I would probably accept a job even for a low pay just to acquire some experience. However, there are some newly graduates who just had the luck of finding good jobs. These are those who excelled in school and have graduated from the more well known universities. Employers see the potential of hiring these new graduates for company profitability. They are given trainings, seminars and in a few years, they are already occupying an executive position. These are the new graduates who really did their best in school knowing that this is their only way to make something good for themselves in the future.

Well, you have really good points.. It happen also in my country, excellent employers usually looking smart candidates from big name university in our country and they recognize them by good salary compensation and benefits as well as good career path..This makes other from non favorite schools harder to compete with them..In facts, the competition has started when they started to choose university or schools, smart students from high reputation school will always have this advantage..Although not guarantee they become rich but they will have better chance than others… appreciate your response..

i do agree to a point cause u are right there are way to many students go for a career and find out later they cant get that what they went to school for.i ntsay they shouldnt but its should be up to the councilor to keep an eye on it an guide their students where there going.
i blame the government for tat cause they need to create more jobs that the students could go in. the government are taking the jobs away for when these kids make their mind up and pay all this money they should make sure its ok.
i know several students who checked searched and checked angain.the government says yes they need them but after they go to collage and spend all that money and know the knowlege for what they wanted to do in their lives they cant do it because the jobs have been axed.not fair to the kds.
the government and students should get together and diguss why thats happening and they should work together.
its not the students fault that the government is in dept and maybe if they use ts to help them solve the problem of the students than it might help the government and studentout solving the job problem.they just cant keep axing them cause there might be someone being traind for that then the companys wouldnt give them a chance.
i feel that if the government work with companys and give the students who has their degree to let them work and get the exeperience and then the student could help another student and it helps the company and the company helps the government and every one would be happy.

Well, you have good points.. Government is always be responsible party for unemployment problem in one country. They should be able not only directly provide the jobs for those newly graduates but also create situation that open opportunity for private sectors to develop new job for them.. If this happen for those who were not graduate from school and unskillful person than would be fine but really problem and frustrated for those who were educated becomes unemployed..I am not sure what will happen in the future…I think I should ask my children to be able to adapt any situation and not depends on the employee…appreciate your response..

I just graduated with a Bachelors in December and am supposed to be receiving my degree in February. I am really scared of the job market out there. I'm working two part time jobs right now and I just applied for a full time job at the same location where I work for one of my part time jobs and they told me that I wasn't suitable because I didn't have experience. I'm hoping that I will be able to find a full time job but I don't think it'll be soon because there are so many other graduates like me who are searching for the same jobs. I do think that a lot of students are going back to school because it's so bad out there and that seems like the only option right now. I'm actually going to apply for graduate school right now and I hope that I can get in so I can defer some of my loans and hopefully still search for a full time job.
So yeah I think one of my suggestions would be to go back to school because it seems all the employers want more "experience" and hope that they can at least find a part time job.

Well, you have really valid points here..the situation is similar in my country.. My niece who graduated from high reputation university has also looking jobs for almost six months from graduation now.. Really difficult to find and to be selected, even though he has went through many interview and job selection process many times but still unable to compete with others.. He said most of the company prefer to select those who has already one or two years working experience since they do not need to spend training hours..
In facts, continue study is the good option even not necessarily the best one since we would be even more difficult to find job for higher graduates..we must compete with somebody who already has experiences and they has graduate taken from their part times …appreciate your response. And wish you all the success to find right job..

Well I have no suggestions. The way the global economy is and if they didn't pick a degree that has a high demand and good job stability they have to take whatever they can find for employment til something closer to their field opens up.
Yet another reason for me not to want to waste the time or money going back to school.

Well, you have some good points.. I understand that school unable to teach their students on everything , include the practical knowledge which we usually get after working in company.. Degree is somewhat important for new entry level job since it will helps the human resources department to select and filter out them and finally found the right person for the job. Understand sometimes we need to have good relation and network so that we increase our probability and chance to join one company…appreciate your response..
