I've tried selling coals and that's how I got my first million. That was a long time ago. The latest way to earn money for me is by picking flax and spinning them into bowstrings. Each bowstring sells 100-180gp so I get hundred Ks from it instantly.

I would love to ask if you are a member, if you are then good for you. With it you can flip(as said previously). A very good way to make you rich. I love flipping, it is risky at the beginning but gets easy after some time. What I love doing is pvping, it is entertaining. You can PVP while you wait for some great flips to be done. You should look for videos in YouTube! I think they are great! It depends of your status. If you are F2P or P2P (member or not). Unfortunately I am not a member so I get less items to flip with. Now I am talking to most of you who haven't flipped : you SHOULD try it, it is fun. Try with resources like food though as you can't afford to lose a lot of money If you have very little amount to start with.

I merchant mostly when I am in game (flipping). This has earned me about 100m this year while logging in only a couple of times a week. If I can be bothered I can make 5m or more in a day. While flipping I can do other money making methods such as killing aviensies (about a mill an hour) for an even greater profit. I can even go skilling, lately I have keen alching while waiting for offers to go through. I have got 89 magic from alching at the GE waiting for my offers to go through. All in all, if you have a good head for money, this is a good thing to do while you do other things in the game or out, takes about 5 minutes and is very profitable if you can get your head round it.

Quite frankly, it seems to me that among the simplest methods of earning a bit of quick cash is to sell clay. At last check (which was admittedly some time ago) plain clay went for about 300 gold per unit on the Exchange. The Varrock southwest mine is good for this, since it's so close to a bank. Just run back and forth, and sell when the price peaks.
