Please forgive me. Will it affect your earnings?

I always forget to rate the comments I receive in the discussions that I posted. I am going to make it up to you, my dear myLotters. I'll go back to all discussions, and I'll rate each comment. I'll also decide if it's positive or negative. I'm just kidding. I always respect each person's opinion. I will see to it that I'll not miss any comments. Will this late rating affect your earnings? I haven't seen any information with regard to this, whether it will give a negative impact to earnings or not.

hi wittynet its in the guidelines and it says yes we figure in your reputatiions when we do the algorithm for earnings. So rating can only help us all and I h ave made it a real habit now. once you start doing it you will form a habit of it and it will only take a few seconds to do it too. good for you. it will help our earnings the right way so keep on rating.

Hello, Hatley! Yes. It's in the guidelines. I also read it when I was signing up. But because forgot, I was wondering if this decreases your earnings and mine. I think there is no specific information with regard to earnings and rating. I also agree with the guidelines that whether we agree or not to myLot member's comment, we should not rate it as negative. That is correct! Just because you got irritated with the response, you'll give a poor rating to the responder. That's not fair. We should always respect each other's opininion. From now on, I'll rate the comment or discussion first before anything else. Thank you, Hatley!

Hi Hatley Haven't seen in you in a while. I agree with you that it just takes a few seconds to do that. Yet so far like wittynet, sometimes I usually forget whenever I am busy with things to do while myLotting. But then I guess I have to rate people regularly. I have to give back and thank myLotters who have rated me well, everyone's been good here to me too so far

I think we can only guess if we're getting positive rates or not based on our rank. I read that rates are not visible to any members except to the one who gave it.

I strongly agree with you, sajeevking! It's better not to rate negative to any post. So many negative ratings will pull down myLot. It would be best to just remain neutral: no rate at all. But I seldom do this. I always give a positive rate. I know they have spent their precious time posting an answer to my discussion, and I really appreciate it. I know that there are hundreds or thousands of discussions everyday. I am so lucky whenever myLot member chose my discussion among those hundreds and thousands.

I am not sure yet if it will affect one's earning here. I haven't checked it out yet. If it will, why not rate it, right? There's no harm in rating any mylotters' comment. Again, rating should be given if we feel that it is the response that you expect. Am I right?

Hello, yanzalong! Yes. I promise to always give rate to the comments that I'll receive. One more thing, for me, whether it is the answer that I am expecting or not, I'll still give a positive rate. Why? Everyone of us has different opinions, and because of this, I cannot give a negative rating just because I disagree with one member's comment.

Hello, befrind! Based on what I read, we are encouraged to always give positive comments to alleviate myLot. If we are giving negative ratings, it will not only affect the member who posted the comment but it will also affect myLot. Well, encourage is very much different from required. I remember the popular verse from one poem: "I am the master of my faith and the captain of my soul." Befrind, I respect your decision when it comes to rating posts. In the first place, why do we have options if we're not allowed to choose. In case you change your mind, you may always give positive rating, and in case it's really against your will, you may just leave it instead of giving a negative rating. Again, I respect your decision. It's very difficult to force ourselves to do what we wouldn't like to. Really difficult.

In my lot rules it says we can rate good and bad,and it depends if it is abusive to me i can rate it bad. But those only who against/abusive to me and especially when i posted about God. And in others, i just not rate bad but i leave it alone but most of the time i rated good of some in here. Yes its my choice, and i know how to handle it.......yes thanks you did response well..enjoy..haha

I am also starting to rate comments. But I think, leaving a comment without rating is better than giving a negative rating. Why to do somebody harm and lower down their score only because we don't like the comment or it is not in our favor. I believe that criticism should also be welcomed in a discussion. Because if all are speaking in positive, there wouldn't be any discussion. Hence, my Negative rating is reserved only for rude people.

I agree with you, Phantom90! Giving negative rating will really hurt not only the poster but also myLot. But of course, we can never force others to always give positive rating. They also have the right to do what they want to. In my case, as much as possible, I always give a positive rating. It is an appreciation to the member who gives me his precious time to respond to my discussion. If I feel that I don't like the comment, I never give any rating at all. If I think that the post is abusive, I am not also giving any rating. Am I so nice? Not really! I am reporting those abusive members. I believe it is also my responsibility to help clean up this site.

Exactly. In my point of view, the method you are following is the best way of using DRS system. I myself follow this method. As I and even you said earlier, we should avoid giving negative rating. Rather we should leave the comment unrated. I think this is the ideal way of using this system without hurting anyone.

Honestly I don't know, because I am new here (less than a week) but, me too, I have the same problem... I am not usually back to respond to my own discussion, and when I am comment some discussion, I am rarely back to check it again...

Same here witt! I just go back to their/your comment and be rated in every case I forgot! They said it all what you wanted and... it's been a help to me too *sigh! What I can say now is, "now I know" *LOL In my whole stay posting and replying here in MyLot, sad to say that I had 1 rated negative... and it's not in my post but with others. I just find the comment very rude to a mother, and I am a mother so, I will not tolerate that rude comment though I know he will not knew it! Just a self fulfillment as I may say it *LOL What you noticed in here, I'm sure many of our MyLotters noticed too that's why we are loving this site! We are all very accomodating here giving and taking comments! Majority of us in here have this good values to regard each one's opinion. And we are one of them, right witt! Cheers Witt... and to all our very nice and accomodating friends MyLotters!

You are correct, Lhenni! Let us always help one another here in myLot. We should always remember that our earnings not only rely on our posts but also on the site's popularity. The more popular the site is, the more earnings we get. Am I correct?

I used to have an 8 rating and I've always gotten along with everybody so I have no idea why I got bumped down one. I was just really getting into this site again, making a lot of discussions, earning more. enjoying my time here more than ever and then I got so upset and discourage I got down a star for no reason. I wish I knew who did it and why. maybe I'd return the favor to them lol.

I am sorry to hear that, Lucyalicia92. I understand how you feel, but we should also understand that we cannot please everyone here. I am also thinking that maybe there are other bases. Is it only the rating of our comembers that really affects our rank or star? I think there are other reasons.
