Apartments or Independent houses

My hubby & I are now living in an apartment. Since we still don't have kids an apartment is easier to manage. Smaller space to clean, cheaper electric bill because we only have things that are really important for us plus we spend more hours at work than stays at home. We do not also need a helper because we do the household chores alternately. But we are planning to buy a house & lot (independent house) soon especially when kids start coming in.

I am staying in an independent house .and aslo like independent house because more freedom and safty in indepent house as compared to apartments .Indepent house can change and add any more thing ,but apartment is only have only one made and there will no change we can do.so I am preferring indepent house .

I usually live in an apartment though most people in the UK prefer a house with a garden. I think it would be a nighmare to take care of the garden and to clean the massive house if I don't really need that much space. Also, the apartments are usually having security and this feels a bit safer to me and we can always call for maintainance from the security team which might be a bit easier than living in an independent house.

i stay in an independent house. i would be prefer to live in one compare to apartment because being in an independent house means you are more at peace, in an apartment as you say it is usually crowded and i don't like that kind of thing going on..

I am living in an appartment and i really don't like it. Living in a flat has many many disanvantages. Noise,not enough space,not having enough contact with air and sun unless you have balconies. On the other hand there are some advantages that some people prefer flats to houses. Some of them are the matter of safety.Flats are much more safe than houses because are much more difficult to have access in these.Houses are easy to break in through windows for ex. or the back yard. The other disanvantage that a house has is the care of the garden. Some people don't have the time to occupy themselves with garden tasks so they prefer intead to live in a flat. I have heard this many times from people prefering flat to a house. These are my thought about this matter. Thanks for listening.

Well i live in an apartment, and i got no noise. Altough we got new windows, anyway we live in a calm street. And the advantage of an apartment in the city is; Your close to martket places, most apartments are cheaper then houses. Disadvantages; You don't got a garden, and it the most streets in noisy. Most young people live in apartment in my country, China. It is extremely hard for young people who just begin to work to buy an independent house. As for me, I prefer independent house because of more comfortable atmosphere. But i have to earn more money. So fighting!

We were living in a house, but there were so many, many problems with it. For one thing, we found out (too late!) that there may or may not be lead paint in it. The ceilings looked fine when we moved in, but soon the paint started breaking up & the ceilings looked like they were going to cave in!!! Finally, the toilets & plumbing started having problems & our basement flooded!!! The landlord took Six Days to fix this. Meanwhile, it smelled so bad that we couldn't stand it. So we moved out. We would love to live in a house, but I've rented and/or attempted to buy 3 houses in this area & all of them have had similar problems & the landlords don't want to fix anything. So right now, I feel safer in an apartment. The landlord in our apartment is better about fixing stuff.
