It depends. I have a desktop that I built from the motherboard out that has over 800 gigs of hard drive space, 3 gigs of memory and I use it alot. However, having just had two of my photographs win laptops in the createyourcase.com competition, I now have a laptop that I use from the bedroom for my journaling and for some surfing before going to sleep. I have my graphics programs on both, my html editor on both etc, so I will be able to access my websites from anywhere I go now. I will much prefer to take my laptop along than to log onto someone else's machine or a public computer that is not set up with the browsers I like etc. (and I had an extra laptop to give my nephew this year for Christmas.)

I'll be honest, I hate the mouse on the laptop. That is to say, there is none. I hate it when my finger randomly hits the pad and the mouse will go in a random place, causing me to lose my place or go to a different window.

I love my laptop. You can take it anywhere, and it has wireless internet.
