I don't know how and why but Korean has influenced a lot of countries now. Not just only in Asia but even in America, Europe and more. Koreans have been very popular because of their KPOP and KDRAMAS. KPOP is their music (example of this are the songs of 2ne1, wondergirls and SNSD) and KDRAMAS are their patronized drama show such as (Boys over Flowers, City Hunter, My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and more). I amvery addicted to them too. lol. I can even write and read the Korean Alphabet now but unfortunately, can't speak and understand their language. lol.
How about you? What are your interests in Korea? Did you get addicted to them too?

I am a lover too, I mean KPop and KDrama lover just as most of the Asian girls, now. I was first attracted to their drama - light, sweet and there is always something educational in it. Then I heard all those soundtrack's songs and I love them. I am now hearing many of Korean songs, like Miss A, 2PM and U-Kiss (don't ask me who the personnel are cause I am not interested in the personnel but the songs).
Yes, to read and write hangeul (Korean alphabet) is easy, but to really create a sentence and understand the meaning is different. I have learned Korean language for more than a year (by myself) and still I cannot say: what dramas and songs that you like (in Korean)?
Ayway, welcome to the club.

I met an Indian lady who can speak Korean just by learning herself. I guess, if we are diligent in our learning we will speak the language in no time.... ah, I have just to find an encouragement to go ahead with my study... if only Siwon would give me a peck on the cheek (wishful thinking!)

Wow! It is very pleasurable on my part to meet some korean addicts here too! Yes, I agree with you that I am more interested in the songs rather than the personnel but somehow, I get to know some of them too.
hahaha. YES! Korean grammar is a lot more complicated than learning its alphabet. Their alphabet is quite somehow similar to the English Alphabet too but their grammar, OH NO! I don't even know If I'll be able to be fluent on it if I'll study it for 2 years. HAHA.
HOOOORAY FOR THE KOREAN LOVERS!

I didn't know that many people were interested in Korea. Honestly, I never gave Korea a second thought until I met my husband. He had learned Korean and is interested in video games. I've never heard anyone other than gamers talk about Korea and its to say that whatever game they are playing was created there or how they want to move to Korea to get better at SC2.

Sedel, there are a lot of people like us (those who love and got addicted in Korea) for a lot of reasons. It could be because of their music industry, foods, tv shows, video games, culture or anything. Anyway, I have heard about how good the video games are there too but not really very interested to it. Haven;t you tried watching their dramas? Most of their dramas are interesting due to their comedy-drama ambiance. lol

No. I have never heard of any Korean dramas or even Korean music. I don't believe any of it would interest me as I'm not interested in Asian culture - outside of learning about Japanese cooking

Oh yeah, recently i've been quite hooked with Koreanovelas and such!
It all started when i saw Personal Taste/Preference (Lee Min Ho) being shown locally on TV and i was like "OMG i wanna watch that!" because the episode i saw was funny and interesting. I downloaded the series just to be able to watch it around November last year i think. I was really surprised when i found out Yoon Eun Hye was a guest star there... They look nice together. I hope they get to be in one Koreanovela soon where they are the lead actors. That would be fun to watch.
After watching that one i went on to watch Lie To Me Yoon Eun Hye. I really liked her in Coffee Prince that's why i searched what other series she was in and found that one. I've finished the series so i downloaded her other show. I'm waiting for My Fair Lady/Take Care of the Young Lady to finish downloading so i can watch it when i want to.
While waiting for the download to finish, i found a Korean reality show/series. I am now watching the Adam Couple from the We Got Married reality show just because of Son Ga In. I discovered her because of watching YouTube eye make up videos. From there i saw the Brown Eyed Girls' mtv for Abracadabra and i was like wow! Upon further research i also learned she starred in the series, and because she seemed interesting i started watching it online and I'm hooked! Jo Kwon is really funny! Then i saw Lee Min Ho's "assistant" from Personal Taste and i said he seemed familiar, and that's when i realized he's also a singer from the idol group 2AM.
I wonder until when my Korean addiction will last. haha~

Good thing that you'll check them. If you are a guy, kindly check GENIE and OH of SNSD, ABRACADABRA of Brown Eyed Girl, Mister and Lupin of Kara, Mah Boy of SISTAR, Bubblepop of Hyuna, NU ABO and CHOCOLATE LOVE of F(X) and Irony and EEBABO of Wondergirls.
If you are a girl the better check NO OTHER and SORRY SORRY of SUPER JUNIORS and BIG BANG'S songs as well. Hope you'll enjoy

I'm an American girl, but I have a serious KPOP addiction! I've always been really into Japanese culture, and one night while browsing Japanese bands on Youtube, I discovered music by BIGBANG. They totally blew me away, and since then, I haven't been able to resist their music! My new favorite singles from them are "Blue" and "Bad Boy." My favorite girl band is 2NE1 (blackjack here!), because they're so fierce and not as "girl" and overly cutesy as other Korean girl bands, "SNSD" for instance, lol. K-drama isn't as intriguing for me because, like Japanese drama as well, I find them overacted and cheesy. However, I'll never give up the music! BIGBANG, 2NE1, Lee Hyori, Uhm Jung Hwa, Gummi, Suju... I can't get enough of it. :) I can't wait until these bands undoubtedly reach big fame over here in the states.

(South)Korean movies are simply 'the best'
and inspire the hollywood just like 'akira kurosawa (acclaimed director)'
Their concepts are simply unique
and with talented actors their movies sort of springs to life
I cant list them all
browse imdb on this subject
