Would You Rather Skip Christmas Or Your Birthday?

Would you rather always skip Christmas or always miss your birthday? Please note that I'm speaking in terms of festivities. You wouldn't miss the birth of Jesus Christ, and you wouldn't miss the day of your birth either. :) If you prefer it this way, which holiday do you enjoy more? And why is it more important to you? I personally would skip Christmas? Why? Because I'm a selfish creature, and I like all the attention to be on me. No, just kidding. But I would skip Christmas over my birthday, because I'd rather celebrate my existence. I do not mean to offend anyone by this. Everyone else would have their birthdays as well, and I'd celebrate their existence then. Although, I do prefer having both Christmas and my birthday. :)

I can always skip celebrating my birthday but not Christmas. Christmas to me means a lot. For me it's the commemoration of the birth of Jesus and second, it's the day when God gave us our only child, our daughter.

Aw, how cute! I always think it's so cool when someone is born on Christmas! It's like the first Christmas all over again. In this case, I understand your point of view.

Hi If i have to choose between Christmas and Birthday i would choose to skip MY BIRTHDAY!In fact i have forgotten many times my birthday and my family and friends reminded to me!I could not have missed Christmas because i adore these.Christmas is my favorite holiday and celebration since my childhood. I feel just like a little kid waiting eagerly for Christmas to get presents and see Santa. But of course i am not waiting presents and Santa!HA HA The real reason i love Christmas is the whole meaning of this day. Giving love and sharing with others. I also love Christmas decoration very very much. During these days i tend to forget all my problems and see the whole world around me hapier too and more relaxed. That is i like very very much!

Very nicely written. If I had the same opinion as you, I probably wouldn't have typed it better. Christmas seems to mean a lot to you. I don't feel the same way, and that's why I don't share your opinion.

Birthday boy! - Well it was a little time after my day of birth this photo was taken actually.
Well as a Christian, I honour Christ's arrival on earth every single day. I'm a shy individual; but Christmas can be an amazing experience. This Christmas we were out in the English countryside (I'm a Londoner); and the smell of the countryside was so beautiful I couldn't believe it; the quiet; the peace; the beauty; it really was exhilerating. And seeing my extended family was a special occasion. As for my birthday, well I'm not so young any more, and this birthday, I kept it quiet; I didn't tell anyone. I didn't celebrate it. Although friends of mine remembered and sent me greetings online, which was so kind of them. But for some folk, as you grow older, birthdays become increasingly uinimportant. Oh when I was young, I used to love my birthday. Also I was not so well this year, so my birthday was not a happy event. Ultimately then...I'd rather skip my birthday...in fact already do!

I completely understand. I am pretty sure that, as I age, birthdays will get less meaningful to me as well. Maybe sad, even. You explained your point in a very eloquent way, thank you for that. And that picture is adorable!

I would rather skip xmas over my birthday. I'm not interested in xmas, so this is a very easy decision Also, your birthday is something unique, and you have the right to have a special day a year to commemorate that you were born and you are still alive and kicking, so it's clear for me.

Yes, I agree! We are all special, and our birthdays should be a day to celebrate an individual for his/her value in out lives.

i would miss my b'day rather than christmas. its a festival of happiness . what about my b'day? a festival or what? nothing. my b'day is special only to me. people will make any day my b'day as long as they make me happy. but christmas is unique...you cannot celebrate christmas after new year...lol

You can also not celebrate your birthday after it's passed... well, till the following year. But I see your point. And you seem very poetic. :)

How nice! So I guess you can't really chose on of them, since they're celebrated two at a time. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I'm pretty sure I stated that this question was only regarding festivities. You'd still grow older.

I already miss my birthday to a point, I have never looked forward to birthdays but Christmas is magic, it involves all my friends and family, I would never want to miss Christmas...

Right now, I don't really celebrate either one. In the future though, I think I might be more social, so I will care about celebrating those days. I would imagine Christmas might be more enjoyable because it is more festive. Yet, I agree with you, anafilipa -- celebrating my birthday, it might be fun to have the focus on me; but I don't know if I'd really want to be the center of the attention. All in all, I pick to skip my birthday. I just think I would enjoy celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, rather than my own birth I think it would be more pleasurable to go to a Christmas party than a birthday party.

You make a good point. However, I'm not much of a religious person, though.

I would rather skip my birthday. I haven't been celebrating birthdays since the last few years. I hate getting old and another increase in my age is not welcome. While I am thankful for staying healthy both physically and emotionally, getting old is not something that I look forward too. If I can only do something about the date, I would be removing January 27 from the calendar. How about that?

As I mentioned, you'd only be missing celebrations, so you would still grow older. And your birthday is coming up! :)
