Canada's Loss to Russia 2011

This was potentially going to be the biggest junior hockey comeback story of the decade, but then it never quite happened. Canada was losing 6-1 to Russia in the 3rd period of the semi-final match for the world junior cup. Canada suddenly managed to score 4 goals within 5 minutes of one another, but they just couldnt seem to shoot one more goal past the Russian goaltender. As a Canadian and a hockey fan (obviosuly), I was let down and will have to wait yet another year for our chance to reclaim the gold.

Admittedly, I lost hope when I saw the score 6-1. I've also decided then that it was going to be another year for them to come back, so I started channel surfing. I was surprised when I came back to the game and saw that it was 5-6! Good for them for fighting back. Maybe next year (if the Swedes are not in the finals)!
