What is really important to you in your life. For me it is making sure that I keep my priorities straight.I think that at times I get sidetracked. There are always so many things to get done in a day and seems never to be enough time. So things just have to be set aside for the more important activities like spending time with my family. It is a juggling act.

I too hope that your mother is able to have a better life. When we see that others we love are having a difficult time or that they aren't happy it really affects us. It is always a good thing to strive to be better pleasing to God. Serving others is really a self-sacrificing thing and it is something that makes us feel good when we are able to be that way. I know for me I'm continously trying to improve and work on my marriage to make sure that we are both happy. We both drive each other crazy but we keep at it.

LOl. That really is a good one. The weekends are awesome. I greatly look forward to them as well. Especially if it has been a long and hard week of work. Thanks so much for sharing your response.

what gives my life not only purpose but also meaning and depth is helping other people when i have the ability to help them. There is just something about helping someone that gives a natural high, makes you feel good about yourself and about life in general. It can be something as simple as holding the door for someone who has their hands full or helping someone with their life's problems. Ultimately that's what makes me happy in life and gives me excitement, one of many reasons to wake up in the morning and get my day started. You never know what's going to happen or what you will learn when you help someone but you will always have a positive feeling about yourself when you do.

I agree it is such a great feeling to be able to help others. That is something I greatly enjoy doing as well. If we think about things we will be able to think of ways that we can help someone and it doesn't necessarily have to be in a financial way either. There truly is "more happiness in giving than there is in receiving."

I think that goals that I have to work towards is something that causes me to move forward easily in the path of life. There is just something about some good solid goals that is just going to make my life something that is going to be something grand. Without goals, I'm just taking up oxygen and living a life that has no direction for sure.
Of course, there will never be enough time. But we have come to that conclusion to say the very least. I think that I have managed to balance mostly everything, but it is a chore to say the very least and there are times where I have slipped up when things got tough. Still got to really take a step back and reassess everything, to really move forward in this crazy thing called life.

I agree with you that goals do make a huge difference. It is always so great to be able to work towards something and see how great the results are. But we do have to prioritize because there just isn't enough time in the day to get all the things done that we want to.

My life has purpose when I share it. I'm pretty young though, so don't have a growing family yet, but I base my life on my relationship. I mean, if my love life goes well I can do everything else with my eyes closed, even without planning, and it always goes just fine. But when I'm alone or have some relationship trouble everything falls apart. I know it's not really sane but it's how I am. If I have someone beside me everything just floats, I'm a magician, when alone I lose control of everything else too.

I know exactly what you mean. I have been that way in the past and I'm still that way. I would love to be more independent but I'm just not. I too often feel when I'm facing problems in my marriage that my whole world is falling apart. Where as my husband doesn't feel that way :)lol. Perhaps it's more of female sensitivity thing or something. But I know what you mean. Life is so much better when we are able to share our life with the person we love.

What is important in my life? Probably spending every minute of it doing the things I want to do. I want to enjoy my life and so I keep on trying to change the routine of life from waking up-taking a bath-eating-studying-praying-sleeping. As much as possible, I always ask myself "What do I want to accomplish for today?" And so I do everything I can. I love learning and so I go to school but not killing myself to get a high grades, I love my family and so I spend time with them, I lvoe adventure and so I have a lot of outdoor activities and more.

I love your outlook. It is so awesome. I think we all should have this type of feeling towards our life. We need to enjoy our life and the people that are important in it. There is only a small amount of time in each day and we should strive to make the most of it. Learning is an amazing thing. There is always something new that we can be learning. I'm glad that you like to be outdoors and do outdoor activities. Nature really is beautiful.

My Christian faith is far and ahead the real source of purpose in my life. Wihtout it I'd have little. But I also gain a sense of purpose from my family; and friends; as well as artistic creativity; such as my writing: http://smashwords.com./profile/view/carlhalling
And music...

And then there is the sense of creativity which comes from being online, writing, communicating, such as at this great site, My Lot.
Another important factor when it comes to a sense of purpose in life is health. Just recently, my health has not been so good, and you really miss perfect health when it's no longer there. I can't emphasise how blissful a return to perfect health would be to me now. Let's say, it would give me an additional boost of purpose...

It feels so good to be able to add happiness to others lives. I agree I enjoy this a lot as well. I'm trying to continously work on spending more time with my daughter. I'm glad that soon it will be getting warm and we will be able to be outside and about with the nice weather.

My family is what give me a purpose in life. I earn a living for me to be able to help my husband in providing for the dorm fees and allowances of our our daughter taking up Medicine in a far city. I always look forward to each day, so i can always be with my husband as well as my parents , siblings and in-laws.
They are the ones that keep me going in life.

I'm glad that your family is what really helps you in your life. I think that sometimes as time goes by we can take for granted our family members. It's important that we do our best not to do this as we never know what unforeseen occurrences could happen to us or them.

Yes money can't buy love and happiness. So many people think it can though. That they really sacrifice a lot and end up with nothing in the end. Simple things in life brings us happiness. Being with family and friends are other ways we can be happy.

when i was a child my studies and my career and my parents was a thing that use to give me a push(purpose). When i got to my career, doing well was the push. then i got married so my husband was on the list. and now i am a mom so my child is the one who have given me a purpose of living for him.
so with time and as we grow the purposes keeps on adding but in a nut shell its my FAMILY..

Yeah I agree with you. As we get older and have added responsibilities in our life then our purpose can change. My relationship with God is very important. As is my family. I enjoy spending time with them. They mean the world to me. I think it is important for us to do things together as a family.

To me being happy gives my life purpose. Without happiness one can sometimes question his or her meaning or value to this world. Which is undoubtedly not a question we should be asking ourselves for no matter what state of mind we are in, we all serve a good and decent purpose. I believe that things like laughter and friends and the true keys to happiness and in the end give you a life purpose.

Yes having happiness or finding it is important to so many of us. I too agree that having happiness is a great thing. It seems that it is hard to get but the key is finding contentment. We will not always be able to get what we want at this time. So we have to learn to be content with what we have. So many people aren't and so happiness is something they haven't been able to reach.

When we have the people that are most important to us in our lives it makes a huge difference. We are able to enjoy our life more, the work that we do and the recreation that we have. This all adds a great deal of joy to our life. Family and friends we need to keep close and not take for granted how important they are to us.
