Had an accident on my way back home..

It was about 4 pm and I was riding my bike back from collage. I reached a square where I had to take a right turn. Some construction work was going on near the square, so there was some sand on the road. Another rider was approaching from right (3 o'clock) at the same time with all indications of turning towards my direction. I waited him to give an indicator sign but he didn't. Seeing this I proceeded with what my instincts told me, go a little wide towards left and allow him to take a turn. But the guy turned left instead, leaving me no place to go. I applied my brakes at once and then it happened.... Every thing seemed to go in slow-mo, but with abrupt changes... I realized that I had lost my balance as my bike slipped on that portion of the road which had sand scattered all around it.. (dam those morons..) ... and off I went... my bike went first actually... and the momentum threw me forward. Luckily I was able to land my feet, as the push was not that big and didn't loose my balance either. But still there was no stopping to the hard-hitting concrete-kissing fall... Fortunately the bike was ok... I thanked God. (I couldn't imagine to face my parents if there had been any serious damage).. Unfortunately I wasn't. ... Here's the description of the fall.... I tried to protect my head by landing on my palm but was dragged with the pull. Yeah, I got my left palm seriously bruised and got a few on the knuckles of my right hand too. I didn't feel any pain at the start. To describe it biologically, it took some time for the pain to travel through my nervous system and reach my brain.. :p Soon I saw some crimson colored liquid coming out from my left palm and that moment I knew .."man I'm in big trouble"... I stood up... dusted the dirt off my clothes and looked at the man responsible.. he stood there complaining " huh..these kids you know... drive so recklessly..". Few people gathered to help me but they were amazed to see that I seemed perfectly fine. One of them picked up my bike for me. A man started scolding me cause I was more concerned about the bike than my own bruises and was constantly looking for any scratches... :p I started my bike, came back home and got a first aid. Had some problems riding back but still... was happy I didn't get to be at the receiving end at home, maybe because my friends and family know my drivings' pretty good. But it was an accident anybody could have been in. Can't blame any one though... neither the roads... nor the man, with whose blessings I had such a wonderful experience.. ..Cause I know that this has been the situation in my country for years and is going to continue for decades ahead without even the slightest change in it. My bad I wasn't that careful and for once ignored the fact that our Indian streets are full of idiots.. Check out Tom Cruise MI 4 and you'll get some glimpse... No worries cause I'm completely fine and even went to play cricket (riding my bike) after I felt fine. You'd laugh out loud that I hit 2 sixes and 3 fours in the game with this bruised hand...:D Share your experiences and comments.. Enjoy lotting...

I take it you were on motorbikes. If so, I'm afraid it's largely out of my experience, as the only motorbike I rode was a Mobilette 50cc moped with bicycle pedals, as recently as 1962.

Outdated? Are you suggesting I am OLD??? (I tried to put angry emoticons on either side of this last word, but mylot will only let me use them when I've reached a rank of 200 - that's a massive amount of taxis in one rank! Do you have your rickshaws in ranks out in India?) I had a car until November and used it when I had to, and expect to do so again (it got written off by an unsatisfactory hotel car park). But what I'm into is pushbikes, and folding ones in particular.
