Feared dead after being swept away in an avalanche last week in Montana, an incredibly tenacious little Welsh Corgi named Ole surprised everyone when he showed up four days later at the Montana motel where he and his owners had stayed the night before going backcountry skiing. The tragic avalanche sadly killed his owner, Dave Gaillard. This is one amazing, brave dog. He most definitely is a survivor. Not only did he walk the four miles back to the very hotel that his owners were staying at, but he went & sat outside the very room door where they stayed at at the motel. It's not a very long article so if you get the chance you really need to read the story on this most amazing dog. Whoever says that animals are dumb has never in their life owned an animal. They are way smarter then some humans I know. So very true, it is nice to see a good story once in awhile, after seeing so many pictures and articles about abused or abandoned animals.

This is just one in a long line of stories about courageous and smart animals. Dogs are known for their loyalty to their owners. That is why stories about how they are mistreated and tortured make us so mad.

I guess some people are just mean. My Grandmother used to say you could tell how a man would treat a wife by the way he treated his dog.

Ha, my Mom used to say that to me too. It may be an old saying, but it's still true nonetheless.

I agree with you a hundred percent. I get so angry when I see any animal mistreated and abused. They are so beautiful amazing animals I just can't understand why not everyone can see that.

Dogs are very smart. It's a dumb person who can call a dog dumb. It brings tears to my eyes that this fur baby survived such an ordeal. Thank you for sharing this.

This confirms what I have always thought...dogs are clever...in fact I hear that some dogs are used to guide the blind.

Yes that's true. They are also trained as police dogs & are considered to be actual police offers.

This is an incredible story and i have heard similar stories about animals before.I believe that animals maybe even be smarter than humans because animals understand what you say to them but often people can not understand them.
