Republicans Will Not Raise Your Taxes?

I was on the you tube watching the Grover Norquist on 60 Minutes the Pledge That I A member of congress in the Republican Party will not raise your taxes and that is a reason to vote republican saying that if the two political parties could brand themselves like coke or Pepsi.
How could the republicans claim the title of the party that will ever raise your taxes and the other Party cannot make the same claim?
It made me curious and I wanted to clarify so I can sort out an approach for a different issue as I was hearing rick samtorum explain water is like marriage water is what water is not beer I could call it a glass of beer but it would still be water.
Jim Demint in his victory speech said the republican party was dead and should be and I would have to agree because if they could not compromise then they cannot continue get the taxpayers money for nothing so to speak by example in jim demint victory speech he said one person said they were not giving to the party anymore until they started acting like republicans and he asked would they give if it just went to republicans and the replied yes OK.
So my opinion is if the republicans that do not pay taxes should not be able to benefit from democrats who do pay taxes or other independents and other republicans that pay into the system.
Can we find common ground on this?

Now if you want an overall standpoint on it. Republicans may not raise your taxes, but since the majority of republicans own large corporations and stores, they will raise the prices on everything you buy from milk, to gas, to other things. So technically they are not breaking the pledge but still getting your money.
I agree. Republicans that do not pay taxes or pay very little in taxes should not get taxpayer bailouts so they can continue to mess up and live rich. They should not be able to sell foreign things here. They get tax breaks for overseas business and yet they still need bailouts.
I think that they should pay the same taxes on everything like everyone else. They don't care about raising our taxes they will just do it sneakily and pretend they did nothing. They don't want to raise their taxes because a normal $20,000 dollar jet ride somewhere might then cost them $40,000 and that is not fair if people 'punish' them for having millions upon millions of dollars.

hi! This rant, following, is not aimed toward you or this discussion, but towards the left's media propaganda machine.
- I truly didn't realize the brainwashing had become so outrageous.. and so totally illogical.. it started out as republicans support millionaires and corporations, now I see it's believed they aRe the millionaires and corporations, wow.
- Republicans support productivity because it means jobs. And they are not for the massive illogical regulations which stifle productivity/jobs. Regulations yes but thousands or pages? I can't imagine why prices of everything keep going up, up, up! [Albeit both parties cater to how they are lobbied/bribed/wined and dined, thAt's why corporations and banks make out so well, but let's not let any reality intrude in the propaganda spiel machinery. Lobbying should be ouTLaWed!!!]
- The opposite of jobs/productivity is dependent upon government for everything. And once government has, owns and runs everything, they're gonna share it with us?? Get real! And once everyone's pockets are empty (taking from some pockets to build bigger and bigger programs supposedly to benefit still others) what then?

This is not meant to be aimed at you but towards the comment of media propaganda that i hear so much....
Some republicans were quoted as saying raising taxes to be fair is like 'punishing' them for making money.
A millionaire (who considers himself as republican) actually said he pays way less in taxes than someone who makes considerably less than he does.
Former Democratic President Bill Clinton also said that he pays less taxes the more he makes.
I think democrats are just as corrupted and they need to pay their taxes too (congressman get paid over 100,000 and pay less in taxes as do former presidents who still get paid even after they no longer work every year). I think anyone who makes ten times more than an individual or even a small family should pay taxes based on their money. I am studying accounting. Seriously, the amount of taxes you have to pay goes down as the amount of money you make a year goes up.
Also, I would just like to say that brainwashing is not the issue. They all (republicans and democrats) cater to whomever pays them. I honestly think any corporation owners decide who they can pay off and switch parties as often as possible. I fully agree that politicians go along with whomever pays them off.
Now corporations do in fact get tax breaks for sending jobs over seas from BOTH parties, the democratic ones don't always broadcast it though. It helps the illusion that there is a party that cares about this country. Both parties are running this country into the ground...
What is going to happen is nothing. Look at what is happening now. People who have to live paycheck to paycheck due to making lower amounts of money and needing to live are losing their homes. Looking for jobs, sleeping on the streets, filling up shelters, and so on because regardless of political party they all just want to take our money. I am not against republicans and I am not against democrats. But your taxes should go up the more you make. That is my honest opinion. If you make 20,000-30,000 then you should pay lower taxes than someone making 250,000-500,000 or even more than that. Not the other way around.
If either party was concerned about jobs in this country then (and this is JUST an example) why on earth do you have a factory making American flags in China? Why aren't they more worried about developing other energy sources than building a pipeline from Canada on down? They are all just spending more money that the country doesnt have.

It takes understanding the world view of each party and what are their goals because of that worldview and understanding of the world. Are they practical in how they see things?
- It seems to me to be right now only two ways to go.. the way of more and bigger government (I don't believe government reaLLy wants to make all of our lives comfortable by providing housing, food, etc.. How can they do this? They have to confiscate a lot of money and resources to be able to do such a thing, so where do these come from? the money and resources to provide? Perhaps the result will be the opposite of what they try to promise.)
- The other vision would be to promote productivity/jobs.
