Unbelieveable. I was able to dust and vacumn out my car this afternoon. It was 43 degrees....another record setting day. I don't think in all my life I have ever been able to do the things I have done this January! I felt guilty yesterday not going outside as with the sun shining and the warm temperatures you would think I would have wanted to be outside. But I had January things to do in here like extra cleaning and playing in my craft room. Isn't this all remarkable?

When I read your headline I was expecting you to be dealing with moggies the way they deserve, giving it an enema or something even more painful (colonic irrigation perhaps) , but on reading your discussion I realised it was your car you cleaned out.
It's a bit colder than that where I live 32F (0C, 273K) at the moment with snow on the ground. I have (once) been able to walk without jacket or coat the week before christmas but that was a number of years ago when it was really mild.
The weather is very changable these days, I blame it on all the new wind turbines which are altering the wind.

I know, isn't it great? I took advantage and had been riding my bike, that is until today, I was too busy with my first day of school.

I had to laugh at first because I didn't know you had a cat. Sorry, I am being naughty. We have the same kind of weather here. It's been beautiful out there and was close to 50 degrees today. Suppose to be in the 50's tomorrow but then think rain is moving in for Tues. night. It could stay like this all year. I enjoy running around in January without a coat.

My birthday was Saturday and here in Northern Virginia it was about 60 degrees. Happy Birthday To me! I always hope for this type of weather , finally this year I got it! But it was short lived, it snowed today.

It has inspired us to go to the summer place! The fire pit, a couple of drinks and peace and quiet. Who's going to be up there? Hunting is over, fishing is over, who can snowmobile? Nothing is happening, the north woods will be our oyster! Even our favorite hangout will be empty other than a couple of locals. Yea! We can work with a microwave and a toaster. No water. We'll deal with it. Did before!

It would have actually been way more interesting if you were in fact, cleaning out your cat. LOL. But, I know what you mean about the weather, it's been so bizarre. I don't remember it ever being this warm in the middle of January in Ontario. I'm not complaining, I'm loving it.

I need to clean out my car. I really should have done it the other day when it was almost 70 degrees out here in Missouri, but I kept my lazy butt in the house all day. Lily and I cleaned the car windows when we stopped to get gas this evening, but that is the most I have done recently.

It's been nice around here also. Last week was bright and sunny and warm, but then the weekend was chilly again. Then yesterday was bright and warm again.. go figure.

I am one of those people who believe in global warming. I mean - part of ice of the north pole that broke off was tracked. the scientists were right on track when they said it would hit either Australia or New Zealand. It caused those awful floods that New Zealand suffered last year.
It my own country we had a hurricane in December a few years ago. totally unheard of and we ignored the warnings as it was out of hurricane season and we just thought the weather people had it all wrong. Then we suddenly realised that there was going to be a hurricane after all and had one mad dash to get ready. You need to have cash as there will not be any electricity sometimes for days so no swipe or credit cards can be used in shops. The car must be full of gas with some spare containers of gas too and then enough dry food and water to last 4 or 5 days. I stood in a long line to get batteries and we were all complaining. Total nightmare. anyway - enjoy your fine weather and long may it continue. Blessings

The weather has been truly amazing! We have had a couple of cold snaps but nowhere near what it usually is. It is like spring or fall weather here. I am wondering what the upcoming months have in store for us. I am in awe of how odd the weather has been. I am doing a lot of non January stuff too!

There were two points where I found the weather to be rather odd. Back at Christmas, where I was able to go outside without a coat. Still with long sleeves granted, but when I have a coat, a scarf, a hat, snow boats, as I'm slipping and sliding on the ice normally during December and into January, that is really something that is remarkable.
And the fact that it got to the mid 50s last week, so I could open my window, which is something that I've never been able to do in January. Granted, it is a good thing to do, as the house gets rather stuffy in the Winter time and after sitting in it after the windows have not been open for an extended period of time for months, that can be bad. Still there are some wonderful things to do outside this year.

Yes I have heard about everywhere having Warmer than usual winters this yr. It has been a nice change for many, but makes me wonder how warm it will be the rest of the yr. We have had a mild winter here ourselves, except for last week when we got dumped on with a lot of snow, and then ice. We were unable to go anywhere for 2 days, and I know people who were without power for a couple of days as well.

I'm the same way & I can't understand it. It's very rare that we have beautiful warm days in Jan. but lately it's been up in the 50's with the sun shinning. Although it's not quite Spring or Summer weather it was still very nice out & yet here I was inside coming up with one excuse after another for not going outside in the fresh air & warm sunshine. I don't get it. Then when it's bitter cold & cloudy out all I can think of to do is complain that it's so cold outside & that I wish it were Summer already....LOL
