battered wives

In one of the TV episodes, it showed a man beating the wife with a piece wood and even pulling her into a pig pen. Thanks to the neighbor who was able to take a video of it, because the man was apprehended and put in prison. Now, the woman and her 4 children are in a shelter for battered women and she said they can now sleep peacefully at night without fear that the husband/father would beat them for any reason that may irk him. The organization will be helping her how to earn their living. I admire some women who were able to come into the open and shared their stories of same fate. Truly, women should have the courage to report such atrocities of their husband, lest they will never have the freedom to live peacefully. I just hope there would be a stiffer law in punishing those husbands who batters their wives.

I commend the agency for upholding justice to those who are maltreated by their husbands. I truly hope that stricter and more fit punishment be imposed to those who violate the law against women and children. Being a woman myself, I sympathize to those who fall victim to this kind of malady.

Yes, we should have stricter law and penalty to those offenders. And they should insure the safety of the women and children after that. I do sympathize also to those women who are victims of this offense. I just hope they can regain the confidence and peace they once have.

Correct! and parents who batters their children should be put in jail. Here in the Philippines, it's now being monitored if the parents are like that. It's the Bantay Bata who is responsible for such. But what about those who batters their wife?

That is why, Stowyk, government institutions are needed to interfere when abuse is present in a family. Abusive parents oftentimes were the ones who were abused when they were children. It definitely is a very viscous cycle. i personally think that the only way to stop this is to have some kind of force that will interfere.

It is sad to see these types of things. They happen more and more each day. I'm glad that she was able to get out of that situation and get the help her and her family needed. So many women and children do not get out in time. And that has often lead to scars for life as well as some lose their life.

Yes, thanks to the neighbor who took the video. The woman and his children were freed from the abusive husband. It is sad though that the mother was not reporting it to the authorities. But i guess, if the only bread winner of the family is the husband, the wives just kept the suffering to themselves . Sad but this is true, specially here in the Philippines. So, women arm yourselves by getting a job of your own.

Yes there are still many women who hide their pain but thank heavens women are starting to speak out and even be independent, women have got to stop being classed as second rate to men, and we all know there is a lot of that out there...

Yes, my friend, there is still a lot of them out there. They are pitiful because they are afraid to go in the open, for fear that their husband will get back on them. It's a relief , that here in the Philippines, there are organizations now that strongly supports those women who comes in the open about their being battered women. And the concerned husbands are put in jail for their barbarous act.

I don't think there is a place in society for men who beat their wives. If there is, it should only be in prison. It's already 2012, the human race has a gone a long way. It's sad to hear stories such as this still exist.

I wish cases such as this should be given attention by all our authorities. Women should be freed from such bondage, without fear of having to be beaten again, once the husband is reported.

It's a pity that the wife stays with the husband just because of the children. What is sad is that the children are traumatized by seeing their mother being battered by their father. Thus, they do also want to separate from the father but if their mother have no job of her own, or is dependent for a living to the husband, they just bear it. Sad but it's true to most cases.
