Admitting it is your first step. Right?

I talk to the television. I get alot of good out of talking to stupid commercials and dumb actors. Now the obvious question is- am I nuts? Like they say people who talk to themselves are nuts. I don't think I am. I think I am merely a coneseur of good television and i speak my mind. And as far as talking to oneself goes-I think that if you can't find good companionship you companion yourself. And you are much less apt to get into arguments this way. What fun is there in arguing with yourself? ^^NOTE^^This is supposed to be funny. Just sayin'.

I talk to the tevevision and the radio and tell them they are wrong or shout out hello to the DJ's who are on, my children think that I'm mad. I also talk to the wall like in Shirley Valentine, a lot of the time when I'm talking ot the children and they aren't listening. At least if you talk to your self you are going ot get the right answers!

I don't always get the right answers when talking to myself. Depression thing I think.

I also talk to my TV. Especially when my daily soaps are on as the storylines are filled with idiots and liars making dumb decisions. I also talk to my dogs and cat who I am sure understands what I am saying.......and I am NOT nuts. :-)

If only the people we were talking to on the tv could hear us.

I haven't gone to that yet. As I'm sure my kids would think I'm nuts if I started talking to the television. But I have found myself laughing out loud when I see funny commercials or funny scenes. This is of course followed immediately with darting looks all around to make sure that anybody with don't think that I've gone funny!

Ya, I love it when I laugh at what I think is a funny commercial or whatever and get funny looks from everyone in the room.

sometimes i do the same thing for a few time, not beacause something ,but because I am not a talktive person, and I find my logical abilty is not so good ,so I try some time to resite a story so as to practice expressing ,because sometimes I found it is very difficult to express my feeling clearly and logically!!

Someone once said (maybe Anne Landers, maybe not), if you talk to yourself, you're always assured of a good conversation. My husband gets the biggest kick out of my family watching tv. We immitate commercials, esp. me, the duck on AFLAC. Got to repeat after the duck until I sound just like it. So hope you are having fun.

My grandfather used to say talking to yourself is fine...it's the answering yourself that you have to watch. I beg to differ a bit though...I am not crazy I think that speaking our minds is a great thing and we can't guarantee that there is always someone around when we get something in there. Your right about the arguing point too. It's nice to sometimes speak our minds with no retaliation.

That is a cute saying. I quite often practice my 'speech' before talking to someone about something important.

If you are nuts then most of the TV audience is. Since madness is defined as a deviation from normal behavior, you are sane. What we do when we talk to ourselves or to an inanimate object is letting off a little steam. It is like talking to a shrink, minus the fee of course. The fact that you are able to spot and vocalize an obvious blooper puts on a higher plane than the people who assumed that it would go through. Enjoy it, but don't overdo it.

it would depend. if they are doing something, or saying something, and you react to whatever they are doing by saying your thoughts out loud that is not mad, its just a way of expressing your feelings, and may actually be quite a good way of releasing emotions, and may be every one should do it. however, if you are talking to them, and think they can hear you and are answering you back, then that is another thing entirely, but i am sure you are not. the only circumstances under which it would be mad is if you thought you were interacting with them in a meaningful way, if you are fully aware that you are just expressing your thoughts out loud there is nothing mad about that at all.

hi celticeagle I used to talk to my TV too all the time. specially if someone was making a stupid commercial . I don't think we are nuts at all. just being after really good stuff on the TV and not wanting to listen to so much junk. Now I talk to my computer when its acting up or loading too slow. Today for some reason my lot has been loading much too slow and its not my computer as its fast on every other site but mylot.

I'm honestly sorry that you have that situation going on. I know the feeling and used to have the same thing here but my granddaughter is gone and my daughter seems to have grown up alittle. She knows I like certain things and made sure I had them today. She has been really sweet lately and we've been getting along great. Thank god for medication! Bi-polar people are no fun to live with!
