So I got a fancy new TV for Christmas, thing is, I'm completely TV illiterate. How do I connect my computer to the TV wirelessly?
I know you're probably laughing at my stupid question but I've owned the same crappy analog TV for the last 12 years which was used for watching the occasional movie. I'm not up to speed on TV tech culture.
The computer is all the way across the room from where the TV will be so doing it the cable route is out. What are my options for connecting the two wirelessly? I want to be able to stream Netflix movies and torrents. This is the TV in question if spec details are needed.
I'm actually kind of embarrassed that my parents got me such an expensive gift for Christmas. I do love the TV and I will love using it, it's just that I kind of feel weird about it. My parents definitely do not have a lot of money so it almost makes me feel bad that they didn't spend or save the money for themselves.

Hi Yusfy27,
I understand your problem yeah! but you did'nt specify any things related to television model and computer configuration. Any how i tell u common way of solution. If your try to connect both,.i.e. computer as well as television together, then you need tv card tuner, you have buy brand manufacture , then only all accessories are come with these card you don't need to buy any additional thing.they will provide easy method of installation and connection guide to you. I hope that my solution is help to you........

Oh I forgot one other option. Are you planning to add a Blu-ray player to your TV? The Blu-ray player I have is connected via CAT-6 cable to a router I have near the TV, and the Blu-ray can stream Netflix to the TV. My player has an add-on module for wireless if I had wanted it, in fact Target had the module for sale right by the player.

I hate to say the obvious but .... read the manual. It the two can be integrated then the TV manual will tell you how.
If the TV is not designed to link the two then the instructions will not be in the manual.
OK, the modern fashion seems to be that you don't get a paper manual with kit nowadays but there will then be an online manual to read.

Many manufacturers sell add-on modules that will allow you to connect the TV wirelessly to the Internet. If you cannot get one of those, then the only way to do it is to connect a PC via HDMI to the TV, and place a wireless card in the PC and connect it to your network. If you have an extra PC laying around this route would only cost you a wireless card, and of course a video card that has HDMI output. The HDMI is a must have if you want the content you stream to be HD. If you only want standard definition, then you can connect a PC to the computer with a DVI or VGA cable. Flat screen TVs these days are nothing more than LCD monitors with a TV tuner built in.
