Computer glasses?

Do computer glasses work? Where can I find a company that will fit a pair of frames with eyestrain lenses? I often have to use computers for extended amounts of times and it gives me some pretty bad headaches and nausea. I've installed Flux which has helped quite a bit, but I often still get them, and sometimes I have to work on computers where I don't have admin privileges to install software. A friend told me computer monitor/eyestrain glasses might help, do they really make any difference? He told me to look into Gunnars, but I don't really like how they look. I was thinking of picking up a pair of frames that I liked elsewhere, and then having computer monitor/eyestrain lenses installed, are there any companies that do this?

I used to have a CRT.. and i used something called anti glare screen/glass.. which is something like a cooling glass that we wear but for the Monitor.. u have to get the right size(that us monitor display size).. but the best option is to change to LCD which is not only soothing compared to CRT but also reduces power consumption which is two hits... If ur using an LCD already u can lower the brightness thats what i did with mine.. as reading text becomes tiring to eyes when the brightness is high...

Still working on those big, fat Cathode Ray Tubes? Its time to go for a sleek LED. That should automatically fix your problem (in most cases). Also, if you are already using a LCD, try to change the display settings so that text is easy to read on eyes. If neither of these solve your issue, go to a Doc. Remember, computer glasses may or may not work for you. For all you know, it might be something completely unrelated to computer displays.

I got mine from a regular optician. Any eye doctor can prescribe them. They do an eye exam and set them for mid range. I made sure mine were separate from my regular glasses, because I wear bifocals. These are single vision and they definitely work for me. However, they will also recommend that you take your eyes off the screen frequently and look around and get away from the screen for about 10 minutes every hour. Good luck!

There are many ways to your solution. If your monitor is CRT, then use glass filters. Or if you hvae LCD monitors, Try to decrease the brightness of your monitor. This may remove some strain on your eyes. I use computer for more than 5 hours a day. I adjusted the brightness of my monitor to about 50%. And I dont feel any pressure to my eyes.
