This afternoon i've visited one of my friend actually we we're neighbors back then when we we're young. I don't ever think that she would become a teacher when we were young, she used to be like very naughty and wild and free back then, and if you'll just knew her all along you will think that someday she might get kick out of school, a drug addict and a famous bi*ch in town, but look at her now, she's an honorable college student, definitely a terror one but believe me she's a good one. When i came there this afternoon she's checking her student's test paper wearing an old ladies glass and very dignified and someone who really knew what she was doing. Until now i just can't believe how she changed her life after all this years.
She entertain me like an long lost friend and neighbor, have some great conversations and topics, some looking back at the old days, but one thing she said that keeps on my mind and i think that i will never forget. She showed me one of her favorite book and let me read the title of it then she said "IF YOU CAN READ THIS, THANK A TEACHER!"

Hi xien
You know, people normally change. It is great to know that your friend changed for good and amidst that change she did not forget her old friends.
That title, - IF YOU CAN READ THIS, THANK A TEACHER! - does convey a lot. I have been a teacher too during the good days of my life - and am still passionate about the teachers' job. And this title does speak great about Teachers. In our lives, we normally forget to say thanks to so many good people all around us. And when we do find something like this, it helps us in becoming better people as we realize that without their good deeds, we might never have been good.

Dear, I am suffering from Ulcerative Colitis and also Rheumatoid Arthritis. So doctors have said I should not Drive, Climb Stairs and I stay at home. I have a few students who keep coming to me to read and that way I live that passion (though on a smaller scale now)

actually i don't underestimate her capacity before because she's my neighbor i see her in and out of school maybe those bad words being throw on her makes her realize that she has other meaning and use in the community and world, and looking at her now i know that maybe when she thinks about the past she's just laughing to those who let her down before

Education is very important and we most times take it for granted. Teachers have to put up with our children and make sure they get the education they need to succeed in life! Cheers to all the teachers out there!!

Yes they have the greatest part in building the world since they teach us on almost everything we knew today, without them the world will be full of stupid people. Cheers for them and may many students get inspired and be like them someday, i believe that we are running out of teachers as of today

Whoa, yes. I would like to thank my teachers that I can read now. My teachers were my parent. I was only 4 years old when I showed an interest to read a newspaper back then. So, my parent guided me and I could read then before I went to school. For everything that is me now, there are always teachers and people and friends and family on our background.

it's always good to meet with old friends. people do change, most for the better some for the worst, it seems that she realized she needs to step up and take action to help her life.

it's good that she changed for the better and make herself worthy and useful to the world, it's good to see her very dedicated doing her job and very dignified looking, unlike way back then she used to be treated like a wh*re and a good for nothing kid out of school

That's a good one friend, I hope I can have a chance to visit an old friend too. And yes, it's so surprising seeing those old friends or classmates that you'll never in your wildest dream would become who they are right now. I also have many friends/classmates who are very successful right now and we're so naughty when we we're young. There's this one classmate back then that we taught was gay but now he's married and is a successful lawyer
