Did you experience once in your life that you will received a text message saying that "HI CAN YOU Be MY TeXTMATE? then when you ask them where did they get your number they will simply say RANDOM TEXTING? RANDOM DIALING? or simply guess your number... Will you belive in this kind of thing? For me I always do think that first it was from somebody i knew that was making a trick on me or some old scammers that don't have nothing good to do with their lives.... Yes, I have experienced receiving random text messages from random people. I wonder how and where they got my number for I never share it to somebody whom I don't know. I can still remember that they would say they like me and I am shocked. I think they are just playing games and got nothing to do.

it is better not to text them back, if it is hard for them to be their selves and they cant tell who they really are it will be a waste of time for us.

I believed this cause I was once contacted by a person I never knew. He got it from a telecommunication company. Now, I am getting almost daily contact from people who cited they were in relation to the banks who issued my credit cards... So basically, it is easy from other people to get our number...

I think that is the proper way to get rid some stranger doing like that. They will stop eventually when there will be no one who will entertain their tricks.

Yes I have received those messages many times. During those times that we are still using the old phones, I still believe that a lot of people are just looking for someone to text with or call just for the sake of using their cellphones. Text quotes books even became popular here before. But now nope, I won't believe anyone and yes I also think it might be a scammer trying to fool us. Just last November there was someone who keeps calling me and pretended that he had called a wrong number. But after a few second, he called me up again and wanted to make friends. I told him I am not interested. The next day he called again. Thankfully I think he finally think that I really am not interested.

It is very annoying when some stranger keeps on texting and calling and telling that he'd just guessed my number and wanted to make friends at first. but, in the end he will finally admit that he gets my number with our common friends. I really hate that excuses. You are lucky that you're no longer experience the random texting from a stranger.

Yup! I used to do it few years ago but out of fun only! I'll use my own number then simply do some math operations with the last 2 or 3 digits then I have it! A randomly created number and to make sure the number is working, I'll give it a call first but I text it. It was just some past time for me then I got sick of it. I do not blame you for thinking that maybe you're being played at because you don't really know whose on the other side of the phone until you meet up.

There are really people who fool around specially through texts. It's just up toy you if you want to entertain them or not. For me, there are times I have received text saying I have won money from somewhere I can't remember and I have to call such number for me to be able to collect my earnings. most of them are scams. There are also few who text like you said "can we be textmates?" I don't entertain such. If I have, it was when I was still young and studying and want textmates, well most of textmates I have where friends of friends. We didn't even meet up or so. This days, I have received textmate request which I have been ignoring the whole time. It seems like this person knows me but then sorry for him he didn't have reply from me. It took a week or two before he stopped texting the same thing, can we be textmate? then turned into "can we be sexmates?" What the hell! how can someone text somebody like that if they are sincere, right? The truth came out and he only wants sexmate instead of textmate. well, whoever he is, he's a garbage! what do you say?

Who can know what the other end is doing. The only way to find out is explore but you will only do so if you have the inclination and the time. Are you looking for a textmate? I think it could be a scam yes and it could be only be a person saying hello. In real life I've talked to people I never met or do not know just because I want to be friendly. Where it goes is an entirely different question.
