I am trying to earn and save money to buy my first car. What are you trying to earn money for? Did you buy your first car or was it handed down to you?

Currently I am saving for two things: 1) another car to replace the one I currently have; and 2) a house. I've already taken a second job, plus I'm also making other changes and selling some things. It'll be tough but I'm optimistic! :) As for my first car, it was a gift from my parents, just as my current car was a gift from my dad. My first car was 12 years old, and this one was also 12, although its now 16.

I am trying to earn some money for my day to day expenses. I hope to try and put some toward savings, but for the most part it does go toward to day to day expenses. That's what I do with my earnings.

I am trying to make extra money to help with expenses. I am a graduate student as well as taking care of my husband. My husband has a serious foot condition called Charot's Foot and it has left him wheelchair bound for a while. My mother wants me to hire a nurse so I can find work and pay off her debt (she has so many credit cards and has not been able to pay them all off). I refuse to hire a nurse when I am more than capable of taking care of my husband. My husband does not like having strangers taking care of him and neither do I. I feel that my priority is taking care of my husband and my education. I am thinking about volunteering a couple of hours a day in a pre-school because I can set up my own hours. I make money on here and I will also be selling a few earrings that I have made online so I can bring in more income. I just do not feel I should have to pay for my parent's debt. I already help with the heating bill as well as food, I should not have to pay for everything just because my younger sister is moving out.

I had to buy my first car, and I honestly wish I had not. Owning an automobile was a nightmare. It broke down constantly. The insurance was crazy. Gas was costly. I worked all the way through high school, and I don't have a penny to show for all those years of working. Every penny went to the auto-black hole of earnings. If I had not bought that stupid car, I would have had $10,000 dollars in the bank by the time I went to college, instead of being in debt. I realize this might be slightly discouraging for you... but... Well, you should consider these things before mindlessly wandering into something... you know... like I did. My mistake. I hope you'll do better.

Well I guess we all have different purpose as to why we are trying to earn money. For me I was saving up coz I have some plans which I could not say for now. I just wanted to make it happen first. But the savings that I have would really be useful for this plan that I was thinking

I'm trying to earn money to pay off my student loans. I don't have a car yet, but I think my parents are going to either hand down their old car to me or a buy a used car for me when I get a full-time job.

well from small age I was working in promotions and doing lots of other temporary jobs.. That one day I will buy my own car.. I saved so much from my jobs.. that I did buy my own car, it was second handed, as I could not afford 0 meter. But the feeling of buying your own car is amazing!! Its like you have won a million dollars !! lol :)

i am trying to earn money just to survive right now, i am a jewellery designer and i do sell my own hand made work, it does sell but i cannot see myself hitting my first million just yet, :) so yep, i am not saving for anything special like a car or a holiday, plus cars costs money once you have bought it, tax insurance, services, gas, etc, so i would never be able to afford to run a car because i can barely fill my food cupboards right now, if i earned more, i think i would save for something nice like a new desk for my work shop, the one i have now is a regular dining table which isn't practical i need something with storage and shelving, i hope you get your car eventually

I had my first car when I was 17. My Dad bought it for me and I had to pay him back when I started work. He wanted to teach me how to respect money and that I had to work to get it and if I wanted something, I had to pay for it. I have always found a car a big expense, but it has always been necessary for me in my work. I am getting near retirement now, but I still will want to keep my car because living here in a country village I need to get around to places. _Derek

I am just trying to earn money to help pay for day to day expenses. My first car was handed down to me from my parents. Back when I was 16 they made cars a lot better and the lasted a lot longer. The year was 1982 and my parents gave me their 1965 Plymouth Fury. So the car was 17 years old when they gave it to me but for the most part still ran fine that is until one of my class mates hit the side of my car then after that I started having a lot of problems with it. Then I sold it to my boy friend at the time for $100 and I bought another car for about $800 which I hated, within a year I sold that car and bought a brand new one.

Everyone wants to earn to save money for something. The old jeep I used to drive was handed down to me from my father, till wages really just ain't enough for rising gas prices and maintenance of a old vehicle. Right now there's about a hundred and one other things I am saving for. It's a long list though. hehe.

I am trying to earn extra money to pay off debt. I have one child in college and one going to start college next year. I really need to get the debt paid so I can assist them. I did buy my first car it was $500 and it was junk. But it was mine and I was very proud of it. Drove it for almost 2 years before the engine almost gave out. But I can tell you one thing you will appreciate it more if you are the one that works for it. Good luck!
