I dated someone smaller than me when I was in college. He was attractive for me because he was good looking, kind and intelligent. Although many people were judging us, saying I was too much taller than him, it was nothing for me. Not until we broke up and I dated 5'11", also good looking and charming. That was the time I realized height really does matters. People and my friends were so supportive about me and my new man. I realized I was more in love with him than the other man before. I saw our picture with my smaller man and me, and I was so upset seeing that the people were right, it was not a good scene seeing me and my smaller boyfriend together. Now, I realized as much as possible, I would not date a smaller man again.

hi, i think its the same with the age,if they say age doesn't matter then for sure height doesn't matter too,for me i dont care if my partner is taller than me or i am taller than him,the important is the feeling we have to each other called love.

I have never dated a guy shorter than me. I don't like really tall guys either. I like guys that are taller than me, but not so tall I can't reach their heads! lol! I think it would feel really weird to date a guy that is shorter than me. I am pretty short, so a guy that is shorter than me would be pretty darn short.

Hmm. I dated girls taller than I am in college, and they don't seem to mind. I didn't just date any girl, two of them were actually the school's best bet in pageants, and to think I am really short for a man. My cousins and school mates envied me and always asked me why do I always get the girls. I told them that it's not really true, because not all tall girls wanted to hang around with me, I was probably just lucky with those two. Those were the days. I ended up marrying some one shorter but still is an inch taller than me.

In my opinion tall or smaller is not a big deal about love and affection. No races, color, nationalities or any other walk of life be the hindrances of love...

I'm fairly average height, and haven't had much of a past with them men. my husband is very tall. but if he was shorter than me, it wouldn't bother me at all. yes, I like that he's taller than me, but why do people even consider it an issue if a woman is taller than her man?

I doesn't matter a bit. I think some guys might have more of a problem with it than the women do but they shouldn't.

I have not had the experience of dating someone shorter than me, but like you I am only 5 foot 1 inch tall. My last boyfriend was taller than me but not by much. I think if I was an inch or two taller it wouldn't make that much difference, but if I were way taller it could be a bit awkward, of course he would have to be pretty short to be way short than me.

In love, age doesn't matters. So as height doesn't matters. A man would feel awkward if his date would be taller than him. My professor who is not that tall had dated a girl who is taller than him. He brought the girl with him during our acquaintance party. At first we're shocked but when she was introduced to us, she seem so okay.

I dated a shorter guy - not that short but he was short since I was about 5'2 only and I think he has the same height as me or lesser inch. I was wearing heels then. So it's a bit uncomfortable coz as we see guys are suppose to be taller.

haha i am 5'8" and it does feels weird when guys who are a head shorter than me confess or wants me to be their girlfriend. It is definitely a Nono. haha. Seriously, wouldn't it be weird to be walking with your boyfriend who is shorter than you making everyone think that he is your younger brother? lol. That is my opinion though. I dated someone who was as tall, er- should I say as short as I am. I felt a bit awkward. Though we may look cute together, I really didn't like it. I imagine myself and him to be like a cute and cuddly little people walking together... I personally wanted to have someone taller. Its my preference. And if I am going to have kids in the future, I want them to have the height of their dad and not from me.

I do not think that i could had a relationship with a guy shorter than me.Of course love is blind sometimes so i am not saying big words.Maybe one day will date with a shorter guy or even marry him!

I am 6 foot tall, i have rarely seen a girl taller than me. but i would be pleased to date a girl my same height, or even taller.

All of my boyfriends have been taller than me. I don't think I can date someone shorter than me. I like to look up to the person and lay my head on his shoulder or something. I am not discriminating and who knows maybe my true love is shorter than me. But I do like my men tall, dark, and handsome!

I've never thought the height issue mattered that much and presumably it obviously doesn't bother the couples themselves. I only have a very limited experience of dating but I seem to recall that the few dates I did have were all shorter than me. I am by no means a beanpole, being several inches short of six foot but my wife is only 5'1" like you, which works out fine.
