I know that this is stupid, maybe even immoral, after all if I spend it I know that I must pay for it. I save all year for the big bills that come this time of year and I am very thankful that I can save, but every year when taxes and water bills come due I hate to pay them. What a fool.

You aren't a fool at all! Well, unless most of us are. I think most of us work so hard for our money that it is hard to part with it for things like stupid bills. I pay my bills and they are always on time but I can't with any honesty say that I like to because I don't. I hate it.

I know just how you feel! I save all year to pay my taxes and I also have an emergency fund and a medical fund. When I see those balances increasing and building up it is a wonderful feeling knowing I can take care of my bills but when I actually have to pay the bills and see the money disappear it is disappointing. All that work, thrift and effort to build up the pot only to empty it and start all over again!
Oh well, at least we have the means and the discipline to do it, right?

I wish bills got paid by a miracle but know it will not be so. So I have almost all my bills paid by my Bank so that I don´t forget. Taxes and other bills I don´t pay each month, I try to save as much as posible so that it doesn´t come as a complete disaster.

I'm really sure that you're not in the minority. In fact most people these days fear bills. There are times where all of their money can vanish in an instant when these bills pop up. No matter how hard we work, it seems like we are merely just working to pay our bills a lot of the time. Not all of the time, but that is just really how it seems.
I think that is just the fact that many people are trapped some never ending cycle to say the very least. There are just a lot of people who cringe when they see a bill that is due. Because they know that all of their hard earned money just really goes up right in smoke. Then again, that is the nature of life. Its always been that way. It just really seems rather worse somehow.

I understand how you feel. I am a responsible person and I understand that I must pay for the things that I use, yet somehow when it actually comes time to pay I will begin thinking about all the other things that I can use that money for. I think that it is a fairly normal reaction. If only we could have those things for free...lol

Hi,Pat,
Me too,I hate to see my money going out of my pocket and I wait as long as I can before paying them.I want to pay less, but I never can.I don't remember when was the last time when I paid less than I expected.I know that when I buy service, I have to pay for it, but I never want to.:)It's a common feeling for people who have to spend their hard earned money on never ending bills.

i think we all hate to pay bills, the money we save is there but cannot be touched, at the end of the year, someone else gets it which sucks, but life is like that, we get nothing for free and have to work hard just to pay bills, that's how life is, i know i hate to pay bills, but if we didn't pay them, we would be in serious trouble

I think it's hard to pay things like utility and credit card bills because they are for things we already have. It's not like handing over money at the cash register for new stuff. We don't really pay attention to the water and the electricity because they're always there, so it doesn't give that same good feeling as buying new stuff does.
I'm also thankful that I live in an area that has good assistance programs, for those situations when I just can't pay my bills. I know that if I can't pay my heating bill, I can apply for LIHEAP and get help with it. There's food stamp programs to ensure I can feed my family and tax credits that mean I don't end up owing at the end of the year.

You are not a fool! There is no one on this earth that can say they love to pay their bills or taxes. Most could only be grateful that they have the money to pay them. That is why I'm so grateful for Gods blessings that I have very little bills to pay. I paid the mortgage off, no credit card bills and no heating bills because I live in Puerto Rico.

No one here likes to pay our bills but we still have to pay it in order for us to continue our living.
For me, I shall minimize my bills and the less I pay, the more I can save.
This is my philosophy for me to control my expenses so that, it will not over my budget.
