My Life of hard knocks....

This is probably going to end up as more of a rant than anything, but right now I need it. Writing tends to be the only way to get things out these days. I am a single mom of two beautiful little girls, whom recently - well as of taking my maternity leave is now employed. I went from having a good job in management to now I cant even stay at my own home, pay bills, or provide for my girls. I feel so helpless right now. I've applied for every job I've found in the want ads, job sites and all whether I was qualified or not. I need a way to pay my rent or I will lose my house, lose my kids, basically lose everything of mine. I've began using this site via my cellphone but haven't been able to make much money. I need something where I can make money immediately or some ideas to get back on my feet till I can find permanent employment. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to share.

Perhaps if you know lots of people you can spread the word that you want to do cleaning or prepare meals.. I know people who work have little time for these things.. of course perhaps you have little time for it too! Perhaps you should pursue child support? Or perhaps even section 8 housing? Since you have children perhaps you could provide childcare for a couple others?
- You can for sure look up the food pantry(s) in your town or county, that can save money. Or food stamps can take up all your food costs if you qualify. Best of Luck!

Unfortunately I can't rent a room to anyone because my home is only a 2 bedroom. My youngest sleeps with me in my room and my oldest daughter basically has her own room as of right now. My room isn't big enough for all three of us or I'd just convert their room into a room for someone else to stay and pay rent. I do have a large carport. Maybe I can rent it out to someone for storage or maybe a place to store their extra vehicle. It's just an idea I came up with. I've tried for food stamps and even though my situation I only qualify for 20.00 per month until end of this month but that atleast helps with buying milk for my older daughter and some small food items.

I think it is great to use writing and writing in mylot to explore and to get things out and clarified.
Money on the other hand seems to be in difficult supply these days. I do understand your plight and commend you on doing the greatest and most important work known to mankind, that is raising children. I know you are putting this to take care of your needs and the needs of your children at the top of the list. I just feel sorry that about all I can offer at this time is friendship.

Thank you- friends are something that everyone can always need. They are the backbone of society and what gets us through our daily lives sane! I have some amazing friends but I can always use more! I would be honored to be considered a friend of someone on here I had just met.

Kx2sMommy, welcome to myLot. Sorry to hear of your plight, but to be honest the only way to make good money online is to have computer skills in website design, blogging, article writing with search engine optimization, knowing how to use Photoshop or some other graphic software.
If you possess any of these skills then you can earn a nice income online. There is so much demand for these services. Starting your own freelance business is the best way to earn.

I've had a bit of trouble accessing mylot from my phone again so I just finally was able to get it back up and running. I am very skilled in photshop and recently volunteered to help make a website for cancer awareness- but seeing as it is volunteer work it's not paid. But I guess it'll give me a chance to prove what I am capable of and maybe be able to show off the site to people that need them made and make some money that way.

I do agree with you that writing is the best way to release our emotion. I just did that couple of days ago here in mylot! 
. If you find some difficulty getting employed, then why not try putting up a small business? Like a rolling store or a small place where people can dine and eat? You may not earn much but at least you'll have some money coming into your pocket. Good luck!

How would I go about doing that? I am not sure how to get the startup funds. I know my credit sucks from having been out of work since October. I tried getting a store branded credit card and they denied me so I highly doubt I'd be able to get a business loan from any banks or anything. Do you know any other ways to start up a small business?

I welcome you here in myLot mommy! It is good that instead of bothering other people, you jut express what you feel through writing. Thank you for trusting myLot. Surely we are here to give you pieces of advises either you take it or not. Anyway, whatever you are going through in your life right now just stay strong. You have two beautiful daughters. They need you.

I guess I figured it was easier to voice myself to thousands of complete strangers than to drone it over and over again to my friends that I am sure is sick of hearing about it from me. I also guess I didn't believe anyone would really read or respond to me is why I felt a bit more comfortable. People like you make me glad that I did post though!!! Thank you for everything!

It is very hard being single mother, all the responsibilities seems to pour down on her shoulder. I would suggest for the children welfare, it is better to tolerate the unhappiness of marriage for few years until children able to make their own living only then you can be free from broken marriage. At least both share the responsibilities and duties as a parents

Getting married wouldn't be bad but neither of my daughters fathers are involved. My oldests dad is already married to someone and my youngests father is not an option. He doesn't really even care he has a child needless likes me anymore. I can't marry someone for stability if there isn't anyone really there to marry right?

Sorry to hear read about this. I know how hard it is without work especially that you have 2 girls to support. With the story you relate, I could guess that you're husband is not with you or that he also is getting a small salary to support you and the kids.
If you will get the help from myLot alone, I am sorry to say that it would be hard and might not be possible to pay all your bills. It can help you in some ways especially if you try to comment on other discussions too or reply with this comments we made on your discussion. You can also try writing articles in different sites. At least while sharing your emotions here as you earn, you can also earn from the articles you made on other sites.
