It seems I'm always waiting. Today I'm waiting for the carpet replacement man to come. I am refusing to disconnect my Internet and phone until they actually get here because it could be two o'clock in the afternoon and I do have a life and work as a freelancer to do. Why do people always assume that people, especially people in wheelchairs like me, have nothing going on in their lives? Indeed, I suspect that they think I do nothing accept sit around, watch daytime TV, and drool. So not me!

I know the feeling to say the very least. There was one time in recent memory where I had an appointment for someone to show up to get estimates for basement repair. They did two hours after the fact. And what was worse, they seemed to think that it is amusing that I had to wait. Well, you know what else is amusing. The fact that I'm not going to use your services for this job and thus you're not getting my money. So that's funny!
Still people who show up rather late anger me. 10-15 late, fine, traffic happens, delays happen. Of course, those who do have the consideration to phone when they are going to be late really are good. But sadly most people do not. That is really going to be something that agitates me to say the very least. Some people think that you don't have a life. Well when you show up at a certain time, you better show up at a certain time.

Many actually think that if you are in a wheelchair that you do Nothing all day! But you know what they say about assuming!

It's really annoying waiting for someone you're expecting to come. Sometimes I have to give a lot of calls just for them to be reminded that I was waiting for hours. Some can be annoying when they actually commit a time but then takes hours or days for them to arrive.

Oh isn't it awful waiting for tradesmen or deliveries, I got to the stage when I was buying small furniture, I would say if it fits in my hatchback I will buy it if it doesn't I won't, I just got so sick of waiting for deliveries, I reckon I was always last on the delivery mans list everytime..waiting is horrible.

While I am not in a wheelchair I do understand your frustration. I remember when my husband & I moved into our new home the cable man was supposed to come by such & such time. We couldn't hook up our TV or place our wall unit in it's spot until he came, which means we couldn't unpack any of the things we normally put on those shelves. We purposed unpacked everything else so all we would have to unpack were these last few things, but instead of him coming in the morning like we hoped he didn't come until almost five that evening. I was furious because to me that was a whole day wasted just waiting for the cable man.
