Is it true that as we get older we tend to listen to less noise? Do we turn the volume down when we listen to music?

I always listen my songs on max volume or max volume - 2 bars. I must enjoy every song and don't put a lame on 1 bar of the 15 :') I don't even care if someone hears my music. I let everyone hear the music I listen.

Good music or not, you are just noise to them, trust me. People don't have the same taste in music. I should know, I did the same think at your age. Rocking my 100 watt speakers to the bone!

I don't think so, but if they hate me I don't even care, because Iam listening real, good music and not that stupid stuff of nowadays.

I thought it would be the other way round, as we get older our hearing is not as good so the volume has to go up but I think maybe we appreciate more soothing music.

I'm not really sure which is which. Some tend to turn up the volume since their hearing isn't that good anymore. Others on the other hand turns the volume down a bit since it kind of grates already on their ears. Personally, I think it's not the volume but the "loudness" of the music played. I mean, as people get older, their selection of music tones down.

well I dont know about others, but from before I have started to listen to the music with a little less volume than before !! Before I use to go all crazy and loud, now its all soft and low!! So ya maybe, we are concerned, or maybe we just cant handle the loud volume anymore! Cheers!

Certainly I find that as I get older I have to turn the volume UP not down! Paradoxically, I also find that I become increasingly irritated by the background babble that seems to pervade the environment everywhere I go. Perhaps I'm just turning into a grumpy old man!

Yes, it was scientific proofed that when we get older we tend to be sensitive to loud noise. Even small children yelling, screaming can be very irritating to them.

Getting older is at times getting wiser...peace loving. It is noise free atmosphere most old age people prefer....this must be due to their living in this world of uproar since quiet a long period of time.

The possibility is that when a person becomes old, his or her hearing senses doesn't as strong during his young age. They tend not to like loud music anymore since it is very painful. Let us understand them.

I definitely have started to listen to more laid back music than I did a few years ago. I'm getting to old to listen to black meta.

I think that the answer is yes.Personally when i was younger i used to hear music louder than i do now and the noise really bothers me. I believe that when people get older want more peace around them due to the daily problems they face and their nerves are really tight up.But after the middle age it happens the opposite.Sometimes when people tend to not hear very well they turn up the volume of Tv,radio etc and they also speak louder because they are not hear their voice too well to.

You are saying that we like quality better than noise. Right?

Quality and noise as well. When you are young you tend to be more energetic and you like to make noise but as the years passing by you need more quiet around you and more quality in music ... that's sure!
