Its really hard for me to live far from the place where I grow up where my friends and relatives are there. Now, I am living far from them and what I have now is my kids and husband. I live in my husbands hometown now for almost a decade, but I never find a company like I have in my hometown, I have been busy with my family and never had time and interest to look for new friends. I have a lot of acquaintances but cannot call them friends either. And this month, my friends from my hometown will visit me, and it really excites me, I am starting to do some home cleaning now and planning to have a home make over for them. I would like them to feel at home when they get here at my place. I also want to plan for some itineraries for them so they can see some of the beautiful places around here. I want them to enjoy their visit here. Isn't it fun to know that your friends like to visit you even if you are far???

I know how you feel although my situation is quite the opposite :) I still live in the neighborhood which I was actually born and raised, my childhood friends and old neighbors have either gone to live outside the country or another city or province. So when they do visit me, I always feel thrilled about it.

I know exactly how you feel. I moved away from home just after high school. Over a period of 15yrs, I traveled all over the world and lived all over the US. I lived a few years in NYC, FL, and TN. I also lived in St.Thomas USVI, Alaska & Seattle, WA. I worked in the travel industry and like you I had a lot of acquaintances all over the world but only two good friends (in different states of course)after High School. Through it all my friends and family I grew up with couldn't wait to see where I might go next so they could get away and visit, lol. The best part is that they get to experience "vacation" in a more relaxed and comfortable way. So, get ready! There gonna be begging to come back soon. :)

Congrats, now you will get to see your old friends again.
Yes,its always nice to have our true old friends with us.
I also missed my old friends way back home since I lived far from them.
We seldom see each other.
It's been 3 years now since I had my vacation to my grandfather's hometown and I do miss my childhood friends :(

Well, it would be wonderful to visit with some of my OLD friends. I actually am supposed to go to a Class reunion if I can somehow afford it in July, and see people I have not seen in 30 yrs. or more. Some of these were my Best friends thru grade school, and lost contact and some I had no idea where they were, until I found them again on Facebook. This does sound like a Fun time, and hope that everything goes well for you.

I am also excited
You don't need to transform your house into mansion. We are not VIPs
It's gonna be my first time going there. I am sure it will be fun roaming there and meeting you after such a long years.

hello hatley, thank you! What else will excite you more than meeting a friend you haven't seen for a decade, yeah, emails, chats, are very good way to catch up with the missed time you have never seen each other but it is not the same seeing them in person right. Thank you again and I really hope they will enjoy their short stay at my place. =)
