By Manchester United standard, this will be a very poor season with only 3 trophies (you left out the Europa League)to play for. Even if they win the triple again, it is just not the same with no Champions League as one of the three. It is pointless to buy any new players this season as the big fish has slipped the net. But they must get quality players next season to try to win all 4 trophies. Although it is not an easy path as shown in the game against Man City, it is still workable as shown also in the Man City game. It is better if they can get a good defender to help out Vidic and Ferdinand, or else, they just have to score more goals than they can concede. We may get to see more results like 3-2, 4-2...

Up to the last 3 matches yes, Manchester City played well. Now that they have lost their last 2, I am not sure if anyone can be as optimistic as before Christmas. Anyway, if they don't win the Championship this season, they can always buy another team to try again next season.

City is the team which is synchronized both with good players and financially thats why they are performing well in this season.

i am a chelsea fan but im not going to trash or troll this post, chelsea are playing like crap as well, i dont really know the man u team that well to comment, but they dont seem to be playing as well as last year, rooney's striking instinct seems to be lost and nani doesnt seem to be playing as well as he was but then again i think fergie needs more players :)

haha i agree with you that midfield and defence needs power and more additions but then again i DONT think that it will be easy fight for the title i mean just look at man city, there are dominating the league the whole league, then again most people who arent man u supporters are pretty much anti-man u ( not me though ) so they wouldnt mind man city winning any day :P

Forward side is still ok but mid-field and defense areas are out of order. If we resolve these problems then we can easily win this Title.

I think the problem for Man U is their wobbly defense and their midfield area currently. Going forward they are quite good with Rooney being very efficient and Berbatov also showing some signs of good form. But at the back especially when Vidic has been injured the team is really wobbly. I think if Sir Alex does not spruce up his defense this season can disintegrate for Man U.
Cheers!

They are really lacking in the midfield department. They seem to be ok on the wings with Nani, Valencia and Young when they are fit but they do need someone with a bit of flair and passing ability in the middle of the park which is why Paul Scholes has come out of retirement .

I wish David Beckham would join Manchester United again. Actually He was in the stadium when city vs united were clashing in FA.

With the money that Chelsea and Man City has, it is not difficult to see them putting up a strong challenge. But Man Utd had done very well in sticking to the "moneybags". Without a doubt, the Red Devils are missing some of their key players. Vidic is out. Ferdinand seems to have lost it. Van De Saar retired last season as did Paul Scholes, thou he made a return. Ferguson has not adequately replace them and thus the indifferent results they had.

Man U will never get goalie like Van De Sar again. He is the real hero of Man U... but we have lost him.

for every team hard time comes. i dont think, it will be fair to react coz they are not doing well in one season. they were fabulous previous year. i was disappointed also when they lost 0-5 to mancity, but they won against them in last game. manu has got good players. hard time comes and goes. as a manu fan lets hope the golden time comes again very soon.

Rio is back to defending lineup but we still need Vidic to coverup totally.
