I was thinking about the kids who act in soap operas and start kids and how they deal with their studies. I had heard somewhere that most of them are home schooled.
I know most of you have gone to regular schools. If given a chance, would you prefer home schooling or stick to the regular school?
For me, I think the 'going to school' part forms an important part of a kids development and interaction with other kids and the world is very important, sometimes more than the studies.
What do you think?

I used to think that a child should attend regular school. Should have normal life and to mix with people and make friends with people around their age.
However, in recent years, my thinking start to differ. I used to thing that to give a child proper education, it is necessary to send them to a government school. However, i have been quite displeased with schools nowadays and am actually thinking of homeschooling my kid in the future.
like you mention, it is very important that the school's is a part of the kids development. however, i think that there are other places outside where i can bring my kids to and give them better interaction than the school can.
However, i think we need to do more research before we should go into a conclusion. Believe that there are both advantage n disadvantages for both options.

I have changed my thinking somewhat too recently. Seeing how negative friends and peers can affect kids, I'm thinking that home schooling is a viable alternative to being around some of these very bad influential kids at public school. I think there are a lot of other opportunities for kids to socialize, like sports, church, scouts etc. School is for learning, first, and foremost, and kids can make friends outside of the traditional school atmosphere.

I think that both can have their merits. However, I still think that I would prefer regular schooling. I think that it's a good for kids to learn, make friends, and such. I do think that home schooling can be good. I have a friend, who was home schooled, and he is a really smart and great guy. This was what was best for him. As much as home schooling can be good, I think that I have a slight preference for regular schooling.

That's also my sentiments. Homeschooling may be similar to formal schooling but the key here is that the child loses the element of interaction, and for me that's as important as the knowledge they gain from the books and lessons they're given. Interaction cannot be taught by just using analogies or examples and stuff, it should be experienced first-hand.

Hi there boyuancy!!
Well I think you are right. But I think it also depends on the situation. If ever I am someone who is working in showbiz or if I am the child of a very important person I think I'd rather take home schooling coz it is more convenient and more secure.

there are countries like Finland in which home-schooling is the rule for kinds, who learn the basics from their parents until they are 7 and start attending school, yet that country student's have shown to be better prepared than any other country's.

Hello boyuancy. I strongly believe on homeschooling. Our kids can socialize in many different ways than going to the school. If you wish that your kids to learn "the street lives" and to feel the danger very soon you are right. But if you wish the best things for your kids I belive for awhile they must be protected. The best protection is at home with parents. And... I believe more adults must to return to study, to educate themselves all the time because of the evolution, the changes which apear all the time. On these ways people can build groups by feelings, by actions that they will like to do together, to feel good when they act. Nowadays because of the internet and online possibilities I believe homeschooling is very important for all of us. We can talk more about that! See you soon, Cata.

You said it. In school we can learn much more about communication than just the knowledge alone. And I also think it is so hard for a normal people to always keep activated or restrained in their study without classmates' influence. So though the school teaching is not perfect, it can do more good to the students' growth.

Nothing beats when you enroll for regular schools and not home schooling. Home schooling keeps away the child from the normal society. A child should be nurtured together with other kids. He or She needs to have interaction to people in order to develop himself.

hi boyuancy,
i would prefer going to a regular school. i believe you can learn not just from books but also from a lot of people and experiences you will normally get from attending a regular school. i think home schooling is quite boring for me.

I understand that in certain circumstances home schooling might be beneficial but I think in most cases it is important for children to go to school with their peers and develop social skills.

abolutelly no to the home schooling.yest it is good when we talk about kids with disabilities, which cannot go far from home or in some special situations.but for an ordinary kid the best you can do is to send him to public school.i believe that the children that go,because this is the main way how he will learn to socialize,to interact,to work in team, and he will be more able to adapt in life situations.
