I do article writing for a number of sites. No one site pays well enough to make a living off of, but in combination you can make decent money.
The sites I've used that do pay out include:
Triond (http://www.triond.com/rw/621167)
Article Document (http://www.articledocument.com)
Text Broker (https://www.textbroker.com/)
Content Current (http://contentcurrent.com/)
You can also write articles through sites such as Mturk.com, elance.com, and odesk.com, though those sites are not exclusively for article writing jobs.

Thanks for the warning. I read over the FAQs and the Discussion Guidelines and didn't see anything about referral links, so I assumed it was okay.

A year ago i was writing on a Associatedcontent. You get paid 1.5 - 15 $ depending on the quality of your article, but you have to be US resident. Now it was bought by Yahoo, but I think everything else is the same. There is an option "Upfront payment" and if your article is accepted you will get money on paypal in a few days. Also you can get paid for number of visits on your article.

Hi badar and welcome to myLot. Well, there are two kinds of article writing sites:
1. Where you get paid directly for work: iwriter, textbroker.
2. Revenue Sharing (You get paid on the views that you get): Hubpages, Factoidz, Squidoo, Xomba etc.
It is upto you to decide.
