I like receiving gifts that I don't expect to receive. I jsut received a box from my aunt with jewelry in it that she no longer wore and she thought my sister and I would like.

Have you ever received a gift from your family member or friend that wasn't for a holiday, like your birthday or a religious holiday? Did you ever send another family member or friend a gift of this kind? Would you be willing to do so? [/b]

We usually treat one another. We rarely give gifts except for their birthdays or someone go for some trip or vacation. But sometimes we do buy for others whenever we get to some store etc. I bought some cellphone's accessory for my siblings a few months ago. I like it as it got smiles character on it..(^^)

It gives you such a good feeling to give, doesn't it?

No, I can't say I have receive any gifts of this kind.
But I just did a pre-spring 'spring cleaning' in the house. There's a lot of toys and books that my kids are not playing or using anymore. Some are even in their original boxes still. I am planning to send these toys and books to their cousin who's younger than them. Maybe he'll have time to play with them.

Aw, that's sweet of you! I bet he'll enjoy the toys! Someone's junk is another one's treasure!

I have always loved receiving gifts, even if it's just a small trinket or something of little value price-wise. And I what I feel when I get a gift is similar to what I feel when I give someone a gift. I haven't yet given someone a box of jewelry but I am planning to hand down to my son some very valuable jewelry when he's old enough to wear them :)

And I hope your son likes the jewelry!

Hi there StephanieAnnC,
In our home, every Christmas, its been a tradition every year to give and receive gifts from family members.
But with that you have received, I haven't received yet any kind of jewelry as a gift from any of my family members. And if ever I will have the chance to receive that type, well, I will consider myself lucky.

I consider myself lucky. It's not every day that it happens and I rarely see her because she's in Texas and I'm in a state away from her.
Gifts are nice though, aren't they?

Hi St3phanicAnn, I love receiving gifts, they make me feel so special..
I also like suprising people with gifts weather small or large...I
enjoy seeing the element of surprise on faces of others,,,It just so
warming...
I don'r care whats in the box as long as its not an animal in it,
and I don't even care if they are dust collectors, just send the box..
LOL...

Exactly! I like seeing when peoples' eyes light up when they receive a gift they love as well. And it's even more special when it's from someone they love.

Oh I remember years ago an elderly aunt gave me a few pieces of old jewellery and they were so gorgeous but unfortunately they were taken when my house was broken into, I was so upset, some of that old jewellery even though not diamonds are such treasures...

That's so sad. And such a pity. People can be so disrespectful. I'm so sorry your house got broken into!

I reconnected with a cousin two years ago....I sent her a gift just because and she sent me one in return. I do greeting cards and sent her a set....she does machine embroidery so she sent me a set of placemats she did for me....its wonderful to reconnect after all these years.

I have received gifts from my good sister friend. She sent me several hundred dollars when she came into some recently. And my grandmother started giving me gifts of things she knew I liked of hers when she felt it was nearing her time.

Hi Stephanie Ann C: That must be a really awesome experience I have to say, specially because there was no special date. And it's sweet at the same time. I have received some sweet surprises from my family, aunts and specially from my parents but they are just not that big. Even with that, they say that intention is what counts.
