Hi there everybody what's goin on? A couple of hours ago I was about to cook a sumptuous veggie with egg meal like what the Japanese make, After preparing all of my ingredients and chopping everything up I hit a wall. Since I'm preparing a healthy meal why will I use oil to saute my veggies (that is what I asked myself) So I was having problems choosing between the in my frustration I just used PAP, It's all good the food tasted great...

Sauteing either in butter or margarine isn't healthy my friend. The two both have fats in them, and as we know fats can be formed into cholesterol, which is bad for the body.
You could just have blanched them and put some nice low calorie dressing such as vinaigrette, the ready made one in bottle or you can make it on your own. It's healthier that way.
What is PAP?

Although I am not in the medical field, I fully agree with what topffer said. Before, all I hear is that cholesterol is bad for our health but those persons saying this forgot to mention that cholesterol is also essential for the body. Good thing that many health shows are now informing the public the difference between good and bad cholesterol :)

Yes, that's the two types of cholesterol in our body. The bad cholesterol is obviously , the one that we should avoid as health experts say.
I agree with Topffer, we should also have to eat some fats to make up for a balanced diet. That's why, i do eat some foods that are fatty, provided that it's in the minimum and not that often.
I think if we don't eat some fats, the tendency is for us is to feel so cold in the instance of even the slightest coldness in the surrounding.

Butter or margarine would definitely make your veggies taste better but if you want a healthier meal, you should boil them instead. Well, it would taste bland probably but sometimes it's a give or take when you want healthy food. Sometimes the taste suffers :)

hi deodavid as i could not get coconut oil I used to use olive oil as its a good fat for us and is better health wise than butter or margarine. as you mentioned we can not do away wit h all fats so we must use the good fats like olive oil, and various nut oils and soybean oil too. What is egg meal as I should know but do not I love japanese cooking by the way. I am an American from California if that helps lol. with seafood I do use butter as its just so good

Butter is healthier than margarine that is as far as I know. Nevertheless if you really like something healthy then PAP or VCO is the best. Butter however gives the best taste but it can't stand too much heat so it is better to just add this after the cooking is done to get best advantage.

The story seems to change all the time which is better or worse for you.
I remember being told ages ago butter was bad for you because of all the fats etc...and margarine was better because it had less bad cholestoerl. Now ive heard that because butter is natural its better for you than margarine thats an oil products.
I think in all honesty what one uses is a matter of personal preference what one uses...or what you're used to.
I typically use margarine because when i buy butter it goes bad before i use the whole block.
