I remember when i was younger ,we drink rained water.Because every time it rained,we did not go to the place we got water an we just do something to have rained water in gallons.
So i think since we drunk it before, i did not think that it make us sick. What you think?

i do not think that you can drink rain water. i believe its not safe.. some rains we got, especially now that we have a terrible weather may be acid rain... if you have tried it before, then maybe the amount you drank was just not enough to cause any sickness at the time.

Well, I think if you are living in a place where air polution is not a big problem, you could do that. Also, if you are in an island where there is no source of tap water, I think it's a safe to drink that than salt water. Just always remember to say a prayer first before drinking it.

I've been told rainwater isn't that safe anymore to drink nowadays due to our polluted atmosphere already partly because of too much carbon dioxide emissions and as such had somewhat increased the acidity level of rainwater. I'm really not sure if this is global or concentrated in a few parts of the world but personally, I wouldn't drink rainwater.

I think is okay if we acciddently drink rain water. Or for people who live in places where they do not have the proper amenities to gain access to proper sanitized water, rainwater is the best option that they have.
However, i would say that if we have the choice, we should drink water after it has been boiled. We have all heard about global warming and that the rain water is becoming more acidic. it has been so acidic that some of the monuments has been eroded.
Thus, i doubt it would be a good source of water to drink from!

Not so sure if it's really safe to drink. Maybe you are lucky not to get any thing from drinking rain water. Some people might think of boiling the water first before drinking.

I don't know if you have to worry about acid rain where you live, but I'm sure if the water is filtered it wouldn't matter either way. It seems like that was the main way some people got water in days gone by so there shouldn't be a major problem with it now.

It should be if your drinking it directly from the sky . I would not catch it in a container and then drink it . If you boil it then the water will be okay but I have never drunk it .

There are places in india, where people collect rain water and use it as drinking water, water to bath and washing clothes, one can collect water but it is better to leave the fist 5 minutes the dirt dust poisonous gases gets dissolved in that water..

I grew up in a tropical country and I experienced flood when I was growing up. I don't remember if I ever attempted to taste any rain water. Still, I would not really be interested in tasting it. It does not mean that you're going to get sick right away, but it would not be safe.
Years since I live in the US, I haven't really experienced much rain. If there is, most of the time, it would not last more than 10 to 15 minutes.
Nowadays, I am more into purified water. So forget about tasting rain water.

Sometimes rain water is kinda bit detrimental to our health. Take note that there is what we call an acid rain that can cause diseases. We should bear that in mind. Just be cautious with the weather.

I don't think it is safe to drink rain water right now. Specially at this era. I was safe to drink it when we were younger, like you used to do, because back then, the air is much cleaner. But at this age, with too much pollution all around us, we are more likely to have acid rain which can be dangerous to our health.

I think rain water is not good to drink but if this water is going in well then you may drink it. AT the time of playing in rain you can drink but not more.

They say rain water is the purest form of water due to all the evaporation. But unfortunately, the harmful gases in the air pollutes it more than it ever was.
So if you are in a village with lots of trees, you might enjoy drinking it, and it tastes like nectar, cool and sweet.
But don't ever try to drink it in a city!

As a child, I used to drink rain water. My mother would catch it to use to wash our hair, but I loved the taste of it. To me, it tasted a lot better than our well water. It never made any of us sick. To make one sick, the rain water would have to have been contaminated somehow. Did you catch the water in a bucket as it came down the down spout? Where did the rain first fall before it came down the downspout? Was the bucket clean that you used to catch the rainwater? If the rain water made you sick, it had to have been contaminated somewhere between the clouds and the container you used to catch the water, or th e contamination could have been in the container. Personally , I believe that whatever made you sick was something else.

hi, i remember my mom telling us as a little kid about drinking rain water, i dont think it will hurt u , no more then eating homemade ice cream out of snow on the ground if its done in a clean manner.. if i remember correct my mom caught us some rain water and we used it to wash our hair.. not because we had to , i have been very fortunate and have never ever been with out running water or a nice indoor bath room.. my husband was not as fortunate growing up im pretty sure he had it way harder then i did growning up.. so as far as using the rsain water to wash our hair i believe my mamaw hall told mom her mother in law it would make our hair shine and she mama hall was a very wise old bird and when mama hall talked people listned..because people was always stoopinmg by her farm house little white house on a neat little farm.. i miss those days so bad, anyhow she mama hall always went by the signs and almanac for farm crop planting and she had one rule when u visited that u never left her house hungry she always had a big meal prepared right in forn of you to eat.. 3 square meals a day.. er and grand pa hall would go out and work from sun up to sun down she raised 8 kids i believe and prepared the most wonderful looking table full of food.. the ins men ate, the mosionarys ate and any one else she could pull off the street to eat. she always told me that the way to a man's heart is his stomach as she was teasching me how too make big cat head homemade biscuits, and string beans i loved thst job with s needle and thread hang them on her back porch and they later made shucked beans.. witch i never ate or even tryed lol.. and i had my own rule in her house as as a youngester, never go around mama hall's house if she was ringing a chicken;s neck or a hen or rooster for lunch i can see the head on the block now.. ring iots neck to kill it first thank god.. but that was not the bad part , the bad part was the smell her house had after she plucked all the feather off and singed the big bird...yuck
i never smelled anything to thus day that had a stinch like that no wonder i was so skinny.. i loved her bis and gravy and very tasty desserts cakes and pies.. so
i think rain water wont kill u.. but too much of anythin can be a problem so use in moderation..
happy night to u all..

I think Bellis, below, has put it quite well. My other point was that if rain water is contaminated by the air it falls through, and you have to stop drinking the water on that account, maybe you need to stop breathing that air as well! ("Move somewhere else" is easier said than done!)

I don't think that rain water is good for drinking, We should take our safety first. Everybody knows about the acid rain! We need to purify or boil the water first before drinking. And when it rains it is better for us to stay inside our houses to avoid waterborne diseases!
