It is certainly good and helpful to know more languages. Because by knowing a language, we will also be exposed to that country's culture and customs as the language usage will reflex. I know Chinese, Malay and English. I would like to learn Japanese and Spanish if I have the chance. I find that a good way to learn a language is by listening to songs. When I was a student in college, Japanese pop songs were very popular and some of my school mates wanting to know better the meanings and to pronounce better, they took Japanese language course and were active in the Japanese language club. We would also try to learn the meaning of the lyrics word by word and the correct syllables to sing. Now I am only familiar with some commonly used Japanese words like "sayonara"(goodbye), "kawaii"(cute)and of course, "sushi"(cooked vinegared rice).
