well if you want to do high power consuming work, heavy work (graphic related making games) then go to the desktop. or you want to do low level work or any type of simple and normal work or daily work then go for laptop. one more thing laptop is an easy to Carry any where and also looks are better.

Well it depend on what task you want to do with your computer. If you want to do hard tasking like gaming, multi tasking, graphic task, and so on, then it is not a bad move at all. As we all know, desktop is better for doing multitasks and all the tasks that need high spec computer. Also with the same budget we can get more better spec desktop than laptop. But if you only use computer for some basic tasks like browsing, typing, chatting, playing mini games, and so on, then it is better to stay with laptop. Because from all the advantages desktop has, desktop has a very great weaknesses that are consume more energy and need bigger space to put it. Happy mylotting...

It all depends on the use you want for it. Laptop main advantage is mobility and you can carry it quite easily at almost every place. Desktops are quite more comfortable, easily expandable, and less subject to overheating problems, and also cheaper for similar hardware. My personal opinion: a desktop is a much better choice for general usage of house computer, gaming, office tools and internet in general and I much prefer it in terms of ease of usage and comfortability. My laptop has some serious problems with heat, which my desktop does not has at all. A laptop is a nice choice if you want to have a computer handy anywhere, say to carry it to your work, or for roaming freely at home or to move it to a friends' house for a party for example.

Depending on how active and often you use computers, it could be a good move. I feel desktops have more features and work better than certain laptops when it comes to doing different things. One bad thing is that a desktop is obviously less portable than a laptop. I personally would like to have one of each though.

I think that would depend on the user. If you are a type of person who's always on the go and prefer comfort and space, then I highly suggest purchasing a laptop since it's handy. You can carry it anywhere. But then, if you're just home most of the time and the type of person who wouldn't want to carry things, then I suggest you stick with desktop. I used to compare a desktop and laptop's price and functionality but with today's fast advancing technology, there's no need to do it. Laptops can be as powerful as a normal desktop so no comparison there. Heck, sometimes laptops are cheaper than branded desktop computers. In my opinion, I would prefer purchasing a laptop over desktop for the main reason of mobility. You can take your laptop with you anywhere you go. I hope my post helped in one way or another ;)

I would say "yes" if you have the space. I have a laptop to work with when I am away from home, but I paid more for it than my desktop and the desktop has more power and works much faster. So I feel that you get more for your money in a desktop than a laptop. I also think that the desktop lasts longer because it doesn't get so hot when it is running. I have gone through two laptops and I am still on the same desktop and it works everyday, where my laptop is on just twice a week usually. This is my experience anyway.. _Derek

I think that each person has to decide for themself what works best for them. For some, the laptop is more convenient for them, and for others a desk top is. It would be difficult for someone else to tell you what is best for you.

i'm contemplating the exact same thing! my first computer is a desktop and i used it for more than a year. after that, i got a laptop from a promotion and have been using laptops ever since. however, after eight years of using a laptop, i'm thinking of switching back to desktops. laptops are good if you carry it around. however, for me there is no such need. my phone and tablet serves that purpose well enough. also, for the same price, i can get a much more powerful desktop with a bigger screen compared to a laptop.

I like both actually. The good thing about laptops are they are easy to carry, so you can work anywhere you like. If you travel a lot going from places to places, having a laptop is recommended. I've owned a laptop for over 3 years. I used to have a desktop and plan to have it again.

I think it depends on you. I have a desktop and a laptop and I like both of them. The laptop I mainly use when I go to school to take with me or when we go on vacations or something. The desktop is nice to have at home.

No, that's not a bad move. Desktop is good because its part is not as small compared to laptop. And, desktop has fewer negative feedback compared to laptop. But laptop is good too and we can bring it anywhere. Well if you're just staying at home then it's good to use desktop.

There is really no difference now. It doesn't matter what you want to do on the computer, chosing a laptop or desktop is up to you. If I weren't traveling I would like to have a desktop, but it doesn't matter because everything works the same, and there are some laptops that a more powerful than desktops. I have a laptop that I use for video editing, game playing and simple tasks like surfing and document processing. It's comfort. I hope you find this helpful.

A desktop is stationary and a laptop is portable. How do you use a computer? The answer to that question will decide the type of computer for you.

If you dont have to be mobile, i would suggest you a desktop. Desktop is more efficient and seldom have repairs. Also no battery issues such as getting heated up etc. And you can re-configure the features repeatedly at moderate cost.

In my opinion, that is not a bad move. I myself just got a new net book however I have a desktop at home. I need my desktop to cater my software needs. I use a lot of different software because I do a lot of stuff with them. I like my new net book now because I can have it with me anywhere I go. My desktop remains as my main computer and my net book is just like a secondary device for me.

It depends on the user...If you are playing games its a good decision.. and if u do office work the best is the laptop.. i think desktop has better performance than a laptop..and my choice is a desktop..
