Hi fellow my lotters! I just started at myLot last month or rather last year and I find it interesting posting to discussions whether you start the discussions or respond to other discussions. Though I still have to earn more because I am not a regular poster due to my teaching job,I recently stumbled upon this site about article writing and kinda challenged me to try because the pay is okay. So I registered and of course for free, and started writing my article.Fortunately, my first article was approved and was so excited and happy that I wrote another one! I think lady luck was on my side because my second article was approved again and would like to share my happiness with you myLotters! Being that said, what do you think about article writing? If this will continue can I consider it as a job? Shall I make it a full time work because I am also looking for other part time jobs.

It can be a job if you want it to be or it can remain a pastime. That's the nice thing about freelance writing: you can do as much or as little of it as you wish! Personally, I write part-time (since I can't do full-time) and love it. It's very nice money for something I enjoy doing. The perfect job, pretty much.

I think the publishers will ship to just about anywhere for the paperback version (though it might take a wee while to arrive!). If not, I suspect Amazon will, though it's only listed on the US site (I think - it's hard to tell with Amazon, since they take a week to do anything!). The Kindle version goes ONLY through Amazon so it's a bit stranger: they have to abide by various laws and can only deliver to certain countries from certain sites or something. I'm not sure how you'd get hold of that.

Writer's Life? - Well, this young guy (CRH many years ago actually) looks like he's posing as some kind of writer or poet doesn't he.
I think article writing is great, one of the greatest gifts available to us writers on the internet. I've done so myself. It depends how much you're making as to whether you can consider it a job as such, that is a full time job; but I can't see any reason on earth why it couldn't be considered work; that is as long as you continue being paid for articles. And as you say, combine it with other part-time jobs, and together they may constitute full-time work for you. Good luck!

Article writing is a good part time job..I never consider it a full time. I have recently started blogging(writing for posts) which is similar to article writing but does require any one's approval..I enjoy doing that...they are many sites that pay for article writing...I suggest you to write for newspapers and magazines so that you can become popular as well and also make a better income.

Gee, thanks to both of you! Good advice. That is what I am thinking too. As long as you are being paid it is still a job. Full time or part time. Actually am planning to check out magazines but I think they do not accept non-American writers.

Personally there are people in here who have done Article Writing for various places on a Full time basis, and some here that actually are doing quite well with it. I have done some in the past and had some approved for pay which is nice, but just have not considered it for a while. What site are you Writing for, and user name so I can check out what you wrote. By the way... Welcome to myLot and hope you will enjoy your stay.

I too write for fun and at the same time to earn extra money. As for your question on whether it may be a full time job, I think that the answer depends on you. If you think you are earning enough from article writing then it can be a full time job but if you have a day job that gives you more then I suggest that article writing can be a part time work. Do whatever makes you happy.

Thanks for the comment. That is exactly what I do, teaching as my main job and writing on the side.

Hello early3, In most of the cases the earnings from net is not so much that one could take it as a full time job leaving his/her regular offline job.I in my view don't recommend it.In my opinion one should take these as a part time work and think earnings to be bonus.

You can consider it a job if you like. I'm hoping to follow suit. I don't want to do it to the point where I don't enjoy it anymore though. My writing ambitions are to get novels published. Article writing would be more to help me improve my skills and maybe make a little money at the same time.

I think it also depends a bit on which sites your writing articles for. Sites like Triond for me are where I put lower grade content seeing as they pay mainly on a per-view type basis. Now with sites like the one and operated by Yahoo now I put my higher quality content on because I can request an up-front payment for my articles. Good-luck but I am about to start looking for a real job.

Well, I started at triond for the experience. And I kinda liked the idea of writing articles. I guess I have to look around for sites that pay upfront. Good luck!

I have been writing articles and dong slidesdhows since 2008 and i wouldnt consider it a full time job at all. I really enjoy doing this put i cant submit an article every day or even every month because im so busy doing other things but i say if you have the time then do it girl because it will help you out at the end and you will see that the money can come in. I would not consider it a job at all just luck of the money coming in and when you havet ime then just do it. First you might be getting paid for page views and you should consaider trying to et your articles out there as well i promote mine on twitter, craigslist and even some traveling sites as well and i wish you the ebst of luck with it. its easy and fun so enjoy it.

Yes and thank you for replying. I thought so too that article writing cannot be considered as a full time job.

Good for you. many of us here on Mylot also write articles on the side to make extra money. It's a great way to make money if you like writing :)

Writing articles is fun especially when approved.but i don't think it can be regarded as a job as there aren't always many articles for us to write and the articles that we wrote aren't always approved, either.

Hi I am interested if I find it that I am qualify with it and I may also take on consideration if they really pay higher than other site. I try my luck at triond but never get lucky to approved it but whenever they disapprove it I just posted it on my blog.

Some people are earning a lot from article writing. And some even make it their full time job. There are many sites that accept submissions and give writers upfront payment. I personally want to earn a lot from article writing; however, having English as my second language comes to be a bit of a challenge for me. Perhaps, I can do blogging and article writing as a hobby, not a full time job. Can you share the site? I might take a look it and try my luck ;)

Sure, why not go to hubpages, bukisa and triond. Although I am a newbie on this field but kinda lucky coz they approved all my articles. Good luck!

I do not know much about article writing but i have heard that some people earn 10 to 30$ per article, it depends on the experience you have and the talent of course.I hope for you to earn enough so as to consider this as a full time job. Maybe you can succed in this if you keep up doing good work and searching for new opportunities. Good luck
