What if there is a lot of intelligent life on other planets in our galaxy?

Astronomers said Wednesday that each of the 100 billion stars in the Milky Way Galaxy probably has at least one companion planet. And you would think that somewhere on those planets there is bound to be life...
So what if there is a lot of intelligent life on other planets in our galaxy?
How would you feel if you knew that we were not alone?
How would you feel if you knew for a fact that there were others that had intelligent life on them?
How would you feel if you knew that we are related and connected to all of the beings on all of these other planets?
What difference would it make in your thinking and in the way you would view and act in the the world?

I would feel good so long as we earthlings treat whatever is out there with respect, I have always said if there is life out there I hope they walk on two legs becaus humans seem to think anything on four legs is there for our consumption so I would hate for there to be life found somewhere else just to end up in our food chain...

I totally agree with you about hoping that they do not end up on our food chain. I hope that we do indeed respect them and that they respect us too.

..or we could imagine life on two legs and send them a message of love and goodwill and welcome to our planet, that we have 5 Billion people on it and have technology and use many of the planets resources.. which could be interrupted by the aliens to mean "eat me".

I wish that could be true, but knowing our species, we'll probably treat them as inferior, and try to enslave them or something. I just hope we'll be smarter than that when and if that happens. Lol.

Well that just depends on what you believe & where you put your faith. I personally put my faith in the word of God, the Bible. If you have ever read the bible from front to back then you know there is nothing that God does not reveal. He mentions the vastness of space, the stars & the planets that He Himself created. He even mentions in the Bible that the earth was round & not flat way before any humans ever discovered that for themselves. So knowing that He mentions this & so much more in the bible wouldn't you agree that He would also mention something as important as life on other planets? Why would He leave something so important as that when He recorded every other living thing He ever created in the Bible from the smallest fly, animals, humans, vegetation, oceans,.....I could go on & on but I think you get the picture. My faith in God & the Bible answer that question for me: He would not forget to mention if he created life somewhere else other then earth. He just wouldn't.

whatrow In one respect God did in fact write the Bible as one could say that God does everything that is done as if God be everywhere there is no where that God is not and if God be everywhere, God would have to have been in the people who were writing down the words, in whatever was written on and also in the words themselves, etc.
There may well have been knowledge about other worlds...
I know that in India there was knowledge of it and that in other places there was during those years...
It may be that it is even in the Bible but written in such a way that it is concealed from the people who have no knowledge of it...
Just as things are hidden often right in front of children who don't understand what they are seeing.

It is not mentioned because God did not write the Bible. It was written by human beings who were inspired by God to create these stories to promote certain concepts. It was written by people who had no knowledge that anything could exist outside of the earth. The stars were nothing more then specks of light to guide man in the darkness.

Hi whiteheron, I fully believe that there is life on other planets and that all life in the universe is somehow connected. I would have a hard time believing any other way. It saddens me to see the peoples of the earth so divided over such minor things as race and religion. We are all brothers and sisters and instead of fighting one another should be living happily together. There need be no one hungry or homeless. Blessings.

Hugs to you posse.
We agree on that view.
I am remembering a song I wrote awhile back:
All of life is a strand of pearls
atoms all connected,
all of the planets and all of the worlds are
all connected.
all the peoples of all the worlds are
all connected.
All of life is a strand of pearls,
a strand of pearls,
a strand of pearls.

Ah... and they probably want to make sure that you will not eat them either...
or harm them in any way.
It is interesting that the number one fear we have is of being eaten perhaps because we ourselves eat so many other living things as that is the nature of life here... Everything is alive and we eat it plants, animals, etc.

How would I feel? Wonderful! Reassured! Relieved! Humans truely are the most stupid, insensitive, uncultured, undeveloped, planet-destructive, self-destructive, lacking in nearly every good quality beings I know. We need them out there & we need them here to protect us from ourselves! These dudes patrol the universe & regulate it & do a heck of a lot of good stuff that we don't even know or care about.
I doubt it would have any effect upon my thinking, view or actions as I believe I take it into account - no one can hide anything from anyone, at least not forever. Yet I still fail to live up to my own expectations I place upon myself, so let's deal with one thing at a time & begin working on ourselves first.

You are not alone in living up to your expectations... as I believe that most people wish to do better than they do as well. Good luck and blessings to you on your quest for self evolution and development. Do be kind to yourself and to the other human beings you meet on your journey as we are all in this growing land together... to learn how to be, how to love and how to celebrate living in kindness, compassionate wisdom and balance.
I am glad that these dudes do help out when needed and thank them for doing so.

It could be that they are always here but are not seen because of our rather primitive array of sensory abilities...
A dog can hear better than we can. A cat can see better. One wonders if they are here and we cannot see or hear them because of our physical limitations...

If this were the case, then interaction with them would be something We'd have to think about, and where We'd stand in their company if contact was ever established...

Standing in their company sounds like something very special. And yes we would need to give it some thought.

I deeply believe that there are many life form in other planet either in our galaxy or others galaxies. Since there are may planet, and of course there will be one that like our Earth. I will probably feel curious to want to know them about how they will actually look, what languages they are speaking. How they live and how intelligent they are? All these are the questions that I would like to know. I will have two kind of combination feeling of happy and fear if they exist. Happy is that we are no alone, and fear that if they are not a friendly species.

I can well understand that mixture of feelings... as we just do not know yet...
There are indeed so many questions that need to be asked.

It might be possible, just like what some intelligent folks said that we are not alone in this world. There maybe some creatures or other forms of life in the moon or in other planets. We might not know it. But well, I would feel happy if that is true but they must be like us. Normal being that has heart and compassion towards other living beings.

Is it the quality of the heart that is important... having compassion?
I hope it is only that which we will value...
As they may not look much like us...
I am hoping that we will value their inner characteristics more than their outer ones.
And that we will learn to also value the inner characteristics of people more than the outer ones here.

Yeah i think i believe that. There are other galaxy out there. There might be some intelligent life on other planets. There are also a lot people says that they've encountered something like this. Some people saw some spaceship, or some light in the sky that is not like an airplane. I also watched some documentary films that can prove that there are some life out there. I think they're here already, LOL.

I think you may be right...
In fact, I have heard from some sites on the net that we may in fact be them...
And that the ones visiting are our relations.
The Native Americans call them Star Elders for a reason.

If this ever happens then it will be the most enthousiastic and exciting day of my life! I am really fond in space and astronomy and i always wondered for other intelligent life in other planet systems. I believe that there is but not discovered yet or has it already and not telling us?
Anyway, in such case i would feel very excited and eager to be in touch with them.I do not think that something would change in my daily routine because i am prepared to accept such a discovery and i think of it as very normal.I hope this day to come soon and to be friendly this new discovered intelligent form of life.

I too would like to see that day especially if they are kind, compassionate and friendly with others who do not belong to their planet... If they are kind to us, then I would love them to be here.

I would hope that we would learn something from them and that they would teach us too... and that would feel very good...
