Some people are just plain rude. They will stare at you for such
a long time and most of the time end up say nothing..
It makes people very uncomfortable when they are stared down especially
when things enter your mind as to why they are staring...We never think
positive always negative...like we have something hanging from our nose
broccoli/something in our teeth...our make up is smeared, you know what
I am saying...
Do you asked them why they are staring or just leave it alone...You
know you can not confront everyone these days ...people are really
crazy out there...

I would wonder why they were staring. I had a woman staring at me just the other day. A young person and i wondered why then. Nothing dandling that i was aware of. I just ignore it and then move on. I do wonder why though.

It is rather kind of uncomfortable to say the very least. Yet in public, there really is not much of anything you can say. Then again, there are times where I might think that they are staring at me. However, they just tend to rather be looking at something that is in my direction, staring at that, and my body just happens to be in their line of sight.
Then again, the opinions of total strangers means obviously less than nothing to be regardless. If they are staring at the wrong person, they are really going to get it. However, I tend to really just let it go. Even if it leads me to a slight level of discomfort to say the very least. You never know what a person might be like however and it is unwise to engage them.

People who stares at me especially when I think I don't know them are mostly girls and some are boys. There are also some children who also stares at me. I don't know why they are doing it. I do the same thing to them. When I stare back, they stop to stare. Because when I stare, I stare differently which makes them think I am angry. I rise my eyebrow a little.

You know, I will just stare him back so we are staring each other. In most case, he then will feel awkward when that happened, and then he stop stared at me..
But, oh, well, if someone ever stared at you in the public, then better be more careful and take extra precaution. We don't know what's actually on his mind..

When someone stared at me, obviously I will become suspicious. Especially when he will follow me to anywhere I go. I will not confront to him of why would he stare at me, but I will just go away and get rid of him. This man can be dangerous and if I bunmped into a police officer I would probably report that person immediately.

You can't just approach anyone and ask why they're staring. It'll just make things more weird. Speaking of which, I was just riding a cab and this other cab was just beside mine. The passenger was wearing a pair of sunglasses and seemed like he was facing me. I wanted to test it so I gave him the middle finger and he was insulted by it.

hello,
That is true. Why people stare like that when they know that it is really irritating? Do they not experience it? Well, I always experience that whenever I am walking in the mall or everywhere. They used to stare at me and I ask myself why they are looking at me? It is really uncomfortable. Yeah, I cant even ask them why? but instead walk fast and ignore them.

How scary is that! I wouldn't want a total stranger staring at me. I usually don't notice as I'm not very observant because I don't want to know if I'm being stared at or not. I take the train to get home from school with a group of friends. We get stared at a lot and my friends notice but I don't. My friends go it's very distracting and creepy. One of my friends said she would stare at them right back until they look away. Staring is jut plain rude and it makes me very uncomfortable. Sometimes I think they're staring at someone behind me rather than me.
Sometimes the person who is staring at you may be interested. You may never know, maybe stare back at them and see how they react. I'm quite shy so I tend to ignore the people round me when I'm on public transport. I don't like staring at others either.

I for one would just leave the person alone. We can't always tell why someone is staring at us or are they really staring at us. I for one, especially on a long commute, seems as though I'm staring at someone, when in actuality I'm just daydreaming or juggling things to do for the day around my head.

yeah...people are crazy nowadays.
Here, the situation is more danger for certain race.
sometimes, when I know someone is staring at me, I will stare at him/her back.
But mostly, I will stay away from the person who is staring at me.
Or cover my face with a magazine or something, pretend reading that magazine.

I ignore them if i find the stare to be offending or mean looking. Like, there's a difference between a mean stare and a curious perhaps friendly stare. Usually they'll stop staring if I ignore them for a while. If they are not staring at me in an intimidating way, then perhaps I would talk to them. They might be someone I know, or they might just need some help.

I always feel like that! Whenever I am on the train I feel so self conscious because I can see from the corner of my eyes people staring at me. I don't stare at people at all on the train because if I feel uncomfortable other people probably do. But there are people that just stare at you for a long time and you start to think that there is something probably wrong with you or that they are judging you. I don't confront them but there are times when I stare right back if and only if they are staring for a really long time. Because on the other hand I know that living in NYC a lot of people like to "people gaze" but when you stare at someone for more than five minutes it's just plain rude and creepy. You're crossing a fine line when the staring contest goes that long.

It really doesn't happen to me very often - apparently I'm not worth staring at. But on the rare occasion that someone does stare at me, I will often stare back at them, and that seems to make them realize they're staring. Some folks just don't realize they are staring at someone, especially if they happen to be deep in thought, or if they are just vegging out for some reason.

Yes,i had met this situation before and it really drive me crazy.I just don't understand why people out there staring and completely say nothing. So the way i react is ignore them and just act as nothing happens, maybe a little while after, the person would then go and end up with nothing,it's really kind of weird.

I am sure everyone has this happen to them. The best response is to smile or wave. As the saying goes ..."a stranger is just a friend we have not met yet" . You do want to be careful though, there are harmful people out there but probably just as many lonely ones looking for a friend.
