It caught my attention when an article was shown that Former President Arroyo is writing a memoir about her years as being a president while she is on detention. She said she has a lot of time to spare, so what she just do is write a book about herself and the years she was president.
The first that came out of my mind, will there be people buying this book? well, what I thought is, maybe some people will buy it because they are curious what will the contents be. But to be honest, if one of my friends will buy it, I will just borrow and read.. I don't want to waste my money on something which I do not even know if it is true or not.
Anyways, when I checked one of the comments of the news, one comment made me laugh so hard. This was his/her comment:
"What will be the title of the book? Graft and Corruption for Dummies? A beginner's Guide to Squandering Government Funds Dry? Tips and Tricks of Manipulating the Law? How to be President for 10 years under the 1987 Constitution?
If it is a biography, I want her to write true details about herself and during her reigning years. Just in case she might want to confess as well, that would be great."
Well, for what is worth, I agree, if she is planning to publish her book, she could at least admit everything that is in there. No more lies, just tell the world the mistake she had done.
Question for everybody: With this issue, will you buy her book when it gets publish to know what are the contents, or you not give any concern about it at all.

Even if her book will be given to me free, I will be adamant in declining it. What she did and did not do during her presidency is public knowledge. I am sure her book will be another dose of lies and more lies. Give me a break. I have better things to do.

Out of curiosity I love to read the contents of the book written by a former president who was once the most powerful woman in the country and now people love to hate. Being an outsider who stand on a neutral ground, I would want to know how she run the country and her final fall from grace.

Hello Taki.. NO, I am not interested at all with her book.. I am very sure it would be with all the flowery words she could put in it, all praises to her and what not.. It is well known how she and her family got the reputation that they now carry. I do wish she would write a confession that would send her straight to jail..

Personally, I won't buy this book because there is a question of objectivity. This memoir might be the expecting platform for the former president either to right her wrongs or to over-flaunt her accomplishments.
But it think I will be more enticed if someone will write it for her, rather her writing it herself (if she can in the first place). She is a controversial person and she might 'grandstand' and bask herself in her own limelight.
If I want to know about it, I would rather read a book review. Again, because of the objectivity. A good critic will cite both the literally if the memoir is sound. However, it is a good material to prove or disprove some allegations and issues about her.

Whether it is written by GMA or another human at that, it will still be a book and something that I will read, not only out of curiosity but for information on how a president feels to be in prison.I have even read the book on Marcos, if I remember right I read the biography of Marcos entitled "For Every Tear A Victory". I like reading about biographies of famous people especially leaders even if I don't particularly like the person. Once this book is out in the market,I would buy one as long as it isn't so expensive.

It was up for her to write a good title for her book. Anyway it was her right. And for sure many of her critiques will buy that book to ruin or rebuild her, also the curious public will buy the book for themselves. The book will be a blast in no time! This can be a best seller book in the Philippines!
As for me, I wouldn't waste money for that book. After all, all the content (literally) will be revealed by the media though.

Hello Taki, It would have been more HONORABLE if she resign like she first promised back where after EDSA II was ousted ERAP. but in all cases she kept changing her mind and that actually ruined her Popularity as the President. She could have kept her honor by running again after the first snap election or at least she never would have made such promise. i think she desperately want to put up the GOOD things she did.
I admit she did a lot of good things during her Presidency, but a lot of scarce as well and corruption too. she wasn't entirely in control. but its too late now the people have decided for not getting interested in her books.

No, i will not buy nor read it. I know that it will be a cover-up and denials of all that has been accused of her.
And the comments as to what title the book should have , the commentator, very well said it. And i agree.

I probably wouldn't waste my money on her book but like you I would be very interested in what she has to say. I for one have a solid description about her presidency and an inkling on what kind of politician she is. For one thing, she is smarter than most people would give her credit for, and that's what has me worried for so long. Her publishing a book / memoir, I can't help but think back on Imelda Marcos and her many many biographies out there. I'm not sure what she wants out of this, maybe she just has to much time on her hands now or she might confess all the corruption that has taken place under her watch as president. Who knows? But one thing is for certain. She will benefit the most out of this book once it is published.

No. I won't buy this book or even have interest in reading it. I will only buy a book from a inspirational leader who did something exceptional for his or her country. I think her book will be deceiving and only showing the world her achievements but not failures.

im not an arroyo loyalist so im not concerned at all. i wouldn't be interested reading that book so i wouldn't buy it. im sure it will all be lies written there. i guess the only way her book would sell once published is for the proceeds to go to the victim of typhoon sendong. hehehe.
