Recently i come to know an interesting thing that we can not delete our web based social networking accounts (for example facebook, orkut, myspace and so many others). If you dont want to use them you can stop it using but your account will exist and this thing is a little bit depressive as well for many peoples.
So my question is here that do you know any trick or any legal process to delete your account if you are not more interested in that. I have stopped using my orkut account about 5 years ago but recently when i checked it was working and i want to delete it.
Wiki leaks has also leaked that these social networking is used for spy purposes as well and once you are in their system, they will never let you go so this thing irritates me that some one is looking into my personals and tracking record of my routines.

You can delete your Facebook account permanently. All you have to do is:
1.) Log into your Facebook account.
2.) Go here: http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=delete_account
3.) Submit your request to delete your account and do not sign back on to your account for about 14 days or it will never get deleted. After 14 days have passed, your account is completely gone.
I don't know about orkut or myspace because I don't use their site, but I know how to delete Facebook account permanently since I deleted my old Facebook account last year.

I have deleted many facebook accounts already. I delete them for some private reasons and make a new one. For facebook it is possible to delete your account. Just simply log in to your account and in facebook search, search delete facebook. You will be go to a page and will tell you how to delete your account. After that it will tell you not to log in for about 14 days to fully complete the deletion.
