if you ask me, there's only one way to fully develop your communication skills. PRACTICE! try to look for someone you can talk to in english. it would be great if your partner has better skills than you so you could learn from them. you can also make or join groups with similar goals.

Practice is the most inmportant thing in learning a new language, and, I have found very useful having pen friends from english speaking countries, there is a lot of pen-friend sites and social networks on the web where you can find good people that share your interests and views, who you can talk with, and while speaking, you will see increasing your level of communication almost without you beeing aware of it.
This is a good place to do so, there are others I like, and can recommend you like Livemocha.com, and interpals.com,

Many people have commented here on mylot that this site has helped their conversational english. We do try to help. Just posting seems to help a lot.
If I have time I try to correct mistakes that severly hamper the understanding by english speakers of discussions written by myloters where english is their second language. Post here for a while and see if this works for you. Blessings

First of all, time must be on your side. If you have a lot of responsibilities and no time to learn english, your progress will be slow. What you need to do is see your self from the outside then talk to yourself about where your english is bad and how should you correct it. Among the things needed to have 'nice' english is a fair amount of vocabulary words, effective manner to tell a subject. Your learning depends on what sort of plan you have in mind. So if you want to discuss about programming, start ignoring things not programming and then read everything about it thoroughly. Good luck.

You can start talking in English language, using plain words and simple, with other people who knows English for practice for ex. your family and friends.I can alos practised often with myself! It sounds crazy but i used to make various questions to my self in English and using the vocabulary when in needed i answered back!
Also very helpful is to watching English movies without reading the subtitles. With this way you learn to listen well and how to express yourself.
Good luck

In the beginning, it is the same for all of us who have to learn English as a foreign language. The secret is to communicate. Talk and write to anyone in English that you know as of now. I am sure that you will learn proper usage and syntax of the language just by listening and reading their reply's.
For a really good practice, read English news papers, particularly the leader, columns and editorials. These generally have very good content, which if you absorb, are an excellent guide to the language.
Feeling shy or lethargic does not help you here. As with any other activity, it is hard work and you need to do it.

You seem to talk like a kid*
What do kids love? Games
You should go play some MMORPGs and chat with other people , in that way , you actually "talk" with others and can actually learn some good english , trust me mate
I joined this game called Runescape when i was 9 and before that , I used to learn byheart my English lessons [what a fail!]
*If you are not a kid and i'm mistaken , you should keep talking more , get a dictionary, learn some meanings and know where to use them - of course this is the important part , you can't just sum up words and expect people to understand what you meant.
P.S: i've seen old people play those games lol :) You should try them too...
