Having a problematic staff is a real headache. I think she should not relegate her works to others to do while she enjoy a job with no work done. Maybe you can highlight this problem to your office manager so appropriate actions can be taken to remove the torn in the flesh.

The problem is we are both Co managers, So we are on the same level in title, but she is worth nothing to the company, as a matter of fact she was supose to work this weekend, and phones in with another excuse, Ive spoken to the regional Boss, but doesnt seem like anything is happening, I feel so angry, but i show the company im the better one, but still she is walking all over me.

Since both of you are in the managerial level, I can see she is taking advantage of you and keeping quiet would only add more stress to yourself. Maybe you can talk to her diplomatically and cite your work loads so needed her to be around always. If her attitude doesn't change then you have every right to voice your displeasure to the top management.

hi karin do what I did when I worked as a page in our local library/this new page wanted to be a clerk and just did half of her wor k, leaving half a cart of books for me to page. well my supervisor stopped me as I was trying to get her half cart of books shelved. she wanted to know why I was late stopping for' lunch and I told her about this girls habit pf half doing her work and leaving me to shelve the rest of her books. she went and got the girl by the elbow, ushered her into her office, then fired her, telling her her check would be mailed to her as she did not hire new people to play and let others do their work for them.the girl waylaid me and said"gee thanks you just got me fired{ I looked at her and said" no you got yourself fired as if you had done your own work the manager would not have asked me why I was doing your work for you.You did it to yourself."

Hi Karin, keep a written record of what you want her to do, and follow up with the work record. The best way to do this is to send email to her, and keep the boss in the loop. If she never does the work, send a reminder email later, and again keep the boss in the loop. After a few weeks, bring to the attention of your boss. You can print the email of how you have instructed the gal to work, and have reminded her, but she never does anything.

So, from reading other comments and your responses to them. I find out that your equals and she does not work for you. I say that you report her to your boss. Who I am assuming is the her boss also. Then you just need to continue on working and doing your job. Do not let her lack of work ethic to cause you to have problems and possibly screw up your own employment. Just let it work its self out. Which by the way it always does.

See thats the problem ive even been thinking of resigning because of her, so they need to make a move quick before they loose the best person for the shop, because we run a retail shop, so it comes with alot of work, receiving stock, puting the invoices on system etc, she just does nothing, I am going to give it a week, and if no sox get pulled up, I will report it to the boss. Otherwise they will loose an asset to ther company because i am truly a hard working person.

Hi Karin! Welcome to Mylot! Hmm... that is one irritating team member who reports to work just for lunch and chitchats. I have an idea... Whenever she asks you to do something on her behalf, why wont you tell her to put in on email so that you can have something to show to your regional boss. This time, everything will be black & white and she wont cover her bum on this one now. That is what i suggest. While youre at it, try to put on a happy face...

I really don't know what you should do because you can tell your boss but then that may have some negative consequences on you. Are you the only noticing this? I don't understand how people can be like this, they want the money but don't do the work. They should be grateful that they actually have a job when there are so many people right now that have no jobs and are struggling to get by each and every day. I'm sorry I couldn't be of much help but I guess you can do an anonymous complaint or something; because it sure is not fair to you or to any other coworkers that are actually working.

Yeah that is really frustrating. I've had to work with people like that, who didn't do any work even if they twisted their on. If only I had the ability to get rid of them, they would be flying right out of the door right on their backside so fast that their head would in fact spin. Yet there seem to be a lot of people out of that like that. And there are a lot of people out there that would work their butts off in that position for half of the money or really any money. I think that these lazy people out their really need to be reminded that. They are going to be replaceable if they are not going to do the job themselves. That is just the way things tend to go. It really can frustrate a person for sure.

Hello Karin, I think your boss may also be watching her and if not then you may complain it to your boss about her attitude towards work. May be after observing her your boss may take a decission to fire her from the job.But you must stop working for her as that is the best way she may be exposed off and there are more chances that you may get rid of her.

If she burdened you with work that you shouldn't do, you better fire her or report it to your boss. You do the job, and she got the money? Wow, that would be not fair. Of course, if she's one of your friend who is willing to hear some advise, go warn her first. But if she totally ignored it, just do the hardcore way: make her being fired!

have a word with her, tell her what's what, talking is better than bottling it up, she may not like to hear what you have to say, but getting it across to her is the best way

I think that you should talk to the supervisor or manager. I have read that you are in the same level with her but that means nothing. You should complain to a manager about the whole situation...Maybe some fishy is going on...Maybe she has someone relative or friend inside the company and that is the reason she acts so freely.. Well i do not know..I hope to find your right here..

Since you are in no position to get rid of her yourself I wouldn't get too worked up over it. I can see from the previous discussions that you've already advised upper management. I would leave it at that. She is not likely to keep her job. If she does something else is going on that you really don't want to get involved in. Keep working hard. Your company will either see your value or eventually another company will. Since you are seeing that most of her work is getting done without her wait till you go on vacation. If the company doesn't see the issue clearly now they will then.

Have you tried counseling? If so, I hope you kept a record of it and the results. If you didn't keep a record, you need to start over. Record what she is doing and not doing. Talk to her again. Keep a record of exactly what was said. If you still don't see a positive result, it's time for the pink slip.

Are you her supervisor or is she a co-worker? If I may ask, what kind of work is this? If this is an office setting, a supervisor can either give her warning, tell her to quit or terminate her employment (get fired). If you are a coworker, you can always raise your concern or complaint to whoever is in charge there. I don't know how easy or difficult things are at your work.

It is hard to deal with those hard headed and lazy staffs. You are the boss. You already know what to do to that staff of yours. I recommend that you approach her and talk to her about the matter. If she still acting that way, just kick her out.

You must have to confront her and deal with your problem, in work team building and work responsibility is very much essential to become successful! Other you if you hesitate to confront her then you will both suffer and will not grow because of her laziness!
