I remembered my phone when I was on my way home. I pulled up and checked my pocket. It wasn't there. So, I decided to go back where I was talking to a friend on the phone. I asked everyone there if they saw my phone. No one knew. I tried to call the number in the missing phone but to no avail. The phone was switched off. The person who found my phone must have switched it off. It's my fault.I was careless. I put the phone back into the pants pocket that has a hole. The phone must've got dropped off through that hole. Have you ever lost your phone? Did someone who found your phone returned it to you? Why doesn't someone who found my phone try to return the phone to me? Or why did he or she switch my phone off?

So sorry to hear that. I know phones our important and losing one we won't be able to be contacted with friends especially those who are not active online and the only means is to call or sms them. But if we lost the phone means we lost their numbers too. I have never lost any of my phone. I think I am just very careful. Although I sometimes misplaced it at home or forgot to bring it with me. I still find it at home. One time I left it in my office but luckily no ones has took it there. My brother lost his phone when he was so drunk. I asked him how he lost his phone and he said it might be when he was in the cab. So I research the taxi company office and called to check the lost phone. We're lucky that it was with them and we got it back!

This is the first time I lost my phone. I had another one stolen by a person who pretended to work as a maid in my house. I was not suspicious of her because it was my wife's mom who took her to the house. Suddenly she asked if she could go out for a while to buy some medicine. We let her go. We waited and waited and she didn't come back. When I checked my phone. It was gone.

Whoaw, just for a cellphone she did that!?! But, good thing she didn't took with her any other important and expensive things. That is why as much as possible we don't want any maid in the house.

I'm sorry for your trouble. Maybe your phone was stolen? It happened once with my daughter - her new mobile phone was stolen from her pocket in a bus! It was bought on leasing from the mobile operator and I had to pay the instalments! Then I learned that each phone has a signal called IMEI and it can be located. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Mobile_Equipment_Identity You should ask your operator if it's possible to do this.

Yes, that is right. I've got to report the theft to the police first. I need a letter from the police stating that my phone was stolen. Otherwise, the operator won't follow up on this. The number will be blocked temporarily and I will be given a new simcard with the same number. Thank for the info.

I'm sorry, what you experienced. Nowadays, it is very rare, people who want to return, items found. Considered to fortune, for a finding.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've been in that situation before. My mobile phone before was stolen. It is just a material stuff. We can replace it. Just think that if someone found it, he needs that phone.

If only everyone were honest and every time they found something that doesn't belong to them, they would return it or keep it till someone claims it. Right.?

I have not lost any but my sister have lost one and my parents lost another. Both are theft. When my sister was going in a bike she dropped her phone along with hand bag near a signal. As soon as she dropped her bag she stopped the bike and turned to look her bag within that someone took her bag. she searched for it but couldnt find. this happens with everyone. People steal mobile since it has resale value or for the sake of hobby. Particularly as far as i have seen young people steal them for fun and just to possess a phone. There are people who are sincere and they never switch off the phone

It's the same every where, people who found something will never return it back to the owners probably because he or she doesn't know how to contact the owner. The ones who are willing to return it probably because they have angel's heart. Believe it or not, if he or she has the intention of selling it while he or she knows how to return it to the owner (in case of a phone loss, he can let the phone switched on in order that the owner can call), something bad will happen to him or her. If we do good to people, people will do us good as well.

Sorry to hear it. I have also lost a cellphone years ago because of my carelessness. Lots of my classmates have lost theirs as well. Moost of them lost the phone at the market near our schoolyard or on the bus and now we have to pay much attention when we have to buy things in the market or take bus :

I lost my phone too before and the same thing happen, never returned and when we do try to reach and call it,unavailable already. In my friend's case, his phone was snatched in his bag,we tried to call his phone but no one answered but instead a received message from the snatcher saying that my friend can redeem his phone in a certain amount. My friend is ready to give the certain amount to get his phone back due to some important contacts and messages in his phone but when we call again the phone is already unavailable.Maybe the snatcher was scared that we might have some policeman with us when we redeem the phone to him.

Yes I have, and the same things happened to me. The phone was switched off, no one ever saw it, I could not find it and I lost for forever. They won't give it back cz they'll sell it or use it. They switch off the phone so that you can not detect where your phone is. be careful next time.
