Manga as in japanese comics.
I am an avid manga reader.
Is manga considered a book? Not that it matters but I'd like to know people's opinions about it.

Well, I read and buy manga at my local bookstore and online a lot. Considering it comes in books like Volume 1, etc... at least the way I buy it at the store or online if I enjoy the series then I would call it a book. I mean I can fill up my bookshelf easily with manga and its just like a book series if the characters are the same. For example, a friend of mine has the entire Naruto collection and it is technically a story about someone and their adventures, so to me its a book. Either way, I am still going to keep reading it and watching anime XD.

I love anime and manga. They are just awesome. I like the style of Japanese manga art rather than the western style.

They're sold in bookstores here instead of comic shops, so I'd call it a book. Plus, they have plots, strong characters, and storylines, and if it is a long series (10+ volumes), then that's a lot of words, like a book. Besides, there are plenty of books anyway with tons of images in them. It's a book, to me. (But, I don't care either way..I love them!)

Mangas are books. My daughter use to work at Borders Book Store where many were sold every day. She enjoys many of the authors and has a large book shelf covered with Mangas. I have read some of them. The detail in the photos are amazing and I recommend that everyone read at least one.
