An ode to SRB:
Through myLot, I’ve learned that I need to find my own bliss,
So that I don’t get too low on myself.
But I’m afraid that I may have lost my way.
Too much that I couldn’t figure out what my bliss is anymore.
I was wondering if there is hope for me.
Because today would be a good day to find it.
Have you found yours?
How did you find it?
Did you have to settle for it?
Never knew that when you type in bliss images on google it would show sky, and clouds, and grass (and sometimes, a tree).

I find that I need a variety of options to choose from! With 2 little ones, I only have pockets of time and energy . . . I will even take 5 seconds of bliss! Ha ha! Here are some that are on my "bliss list":
*Figure skating: Nothing like being on the ice to focus solely on perfecting your next move. Seriously, it's the one place I can forget the world for the most part. Work on a program or perform it - then I truly forget (only because what I'm working on is scary - ha ha). But, these days I can't get to the rink!
*The internet: Facebook, myLot, YouTube and everywhere else. It's my window to the outside world when I'm at home!
*Going to places with the kids: Ok, maybe not what most people call "bliss", but I enjoy taking my kids to places where they can experience new things. My kids like that - and if they're very happy (and very occupied), I'm happy too!
*Eating: Well, luckily I'm the type that can eat anything I want and not gain a lot of weight. But still it's not exactly a good thing. I love eating . . . and if I can eat a good meal and my tummy can be happy, oh what joy. This includes chocolate!
*Bargain shopping: Is it stupid for finding bliss in shopping? I don't spend a lot of money on frivilous stuff . . . I just love shopping for bargains and I'm ecstatic when I find an awesome deal.
Finding bliss doesn't have to be something extarordinary, fancy, or something of a rare occasion. Take a closer look at the little things in life!

Bounce - one more thing to add to the discussion!
I think this is part of the reason people are addicted to working out . . . they can get in "the zone" and tune out "life" for a while. Rigorous physical activity can do that . . . and hey, your mind AND body will thank you for it!! I just happen to NOT enjoy going to a gym . . . figure skating is more my "thang" as it doesn't feel like repetitive exercise . . . it's truly dancing on ice! The only thing is, as I mentioned, I can't get out the rink like I used to do (so I do it on the floor at home - ha ha).
Hope you find that "thang"!!!!!!

I've become envious of you much2say.
I like that you have figure skating to go to. To be away forget, to be away from people, and to experience a little bliss. It makes me wish I did something like that.
I hope you continue doing it! And inspire family around you.
Thanks for the response.

Bliss is a walk on the beach with the person you love, is watching the sunrise or the sunset on a good weather, is not worrying about any unpaid bills and wondering how to pay them. Bliss is not always about big stuff. It can all be about simple things that we often take for granted but when we reflect on them they do give us peace of mind and feel glad that we are actually alive. It makes you want to shout out, "Thank God, I'm alive!"

Some may think that people are foolish to think about and want a few of the examples you've written here. But in fact I do agree with you, that to be blissful, it doesn't have to mean the big things. It's definitely a few things that we take for granted.
Thanks.

yes I have found it starting 2009. each person finds it different way.
I found it through spirituality, leaving my religion and everything/everyone else in the past behind for it
Nothing and nobody can take it away from me

try again lost my response. I think I found my own bliss through
joining mylot where I am accepted like everyone else ev en though
I am elderly. I have so m any great mylot friends and while I have
never meet you or the others I get to know you through discussions
and responses. I relax here and although a quiet shy person here 'I an have fun and joke and tease and lau gh with my manyt fri ends.'I is bliss for me as it takes me away from this dreary room and my
forever sleeping roommate.I found that on mylot I can relax and can laugh and joke and tease with my many friends so my bliess is right here.

Now, there's an idea!
Maybe not a bubble bath for me, but that would be nice. Back at home, taking a day off work, while the kids are safe somewhere else (school maybe).
Maybe even just on the couch with a cup of Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia on my hand.
Thanks.

My bliss is actually in the times that I'm able to get out of the house and just drive and listen to music. I think that the reason that is my bliss is because of the fact that I am able to get away from everything and just concentrate on the task that is at hand.
However, I also find a little bit of bliss in simply taking a bath and reading a good book.
For me it is just simple things that are my bliss.

Bliss...hmm...interesting word really. Bliss is a "state of ecstasy"...well...you know where that would take everyone if they were all blissful...turn that fireplace channel on and call the wife Surprising about the trees and sky depiction. Oh ok..there was one other definition and it was "profound joy and satisfaction" but it was nowhere near as fun as the first one I hit.
I looked it up because I can define my own state of bliss but it is different for people and I was wondering after your post the exact definition.
Settling has not been an option for me but that comes with its own prices too. The thing is that the "choices" that you think were the wrong ones...well...there is noway of knowing what they might have been otherwise. Life has a funny way of leading is sometimes and although it is sometimes hard to see past the "what ifs" they might have actually landed us in far worse states of mind than our current being.
For me...I accept me for who I am. That is huge. I don't want to be better..I just want to do better. I take the lemons, make the lemonade, then I add the sugar when I can and to the best of my abilities. Life can be as sweet as we make it.
I also don't focus on all the bad things..there are alot of those but I continue on and look for those beautiful golden threads..they are there..just gotta look.
Take care friend and I do so want you to be "blissful."
