I seldom give them money. If I have extra food in bag, those are the things that I give them instead of money. The thing about giving them money is that sometimes they do not buy food with it. There are some who just buy Rugby to inhale. I see a lot of them late at night near EDSA. Sometimes, I think about giving those beggars some alms or food because there are those that are ungrateful. Of course, I do not expect them to verbalize their thanks but there are some who after giving them food, even have the guts to go back to you and complain. There was a time I gave some left over chips to a girl and she came back to me and said "Ate, kayo ba nagbigay nito? Ayos ha! Ang kunat."

I think it is embarassing and I don't even look at them. In our community we have been asked by the governor NOT to give money to beggars. That are programs in place to help them. I feel bad for them but they need to help themselves. I would have to be pretty bad off to beg.

we don't have many here in Australia, but the few that I have encountered over time is from people who obviously want for one thing, I would prefer to buy food for anyone that is hungry that to give money unless I know for sure where that money is going.

I have had bad experiences with beggars so now I prefer to give money to institutions who take care of poor or old people. But the most I give is to a childrenĀ“s hospital who cares for children with cancer.

Me too, I usually give them money but now not anymore, specially with beggars who can still work for a living, but instead they are on the streets asking for money. Sometimes they parents bring their children for you to pity on them but I don't, because I know that those moms can still work fro their family, but they chooses not to..
