I've been seeing alot of opportunities for MLMs around and have even checked a few out but I have been wary of actually paying to see how well they work out.

First thing, (at least for me), unless the product is of any use, it's not good to take it up. (I consider myself as an average guy, so if it is not useful for me, it is not for others too.)
Most of the MLMs charge high for the products. And most of them have compulsory monthly purchase. It's really concerning to make a monthly commitment, when we are not sure whether we could make money or not.
There are few MLMs which have one time purchase option. But, they too charge high price for the product.
I found one product from trafficwave.net which seems to be little useful. But they too have monthly commitment. (I have not decided whether to join or not, but their autoresponders may be useful for us if we do any online business.)
I have taken few MLMs, out of which I was successful in only one business. But, it turned to be a scam. (Though I made money, there were lot of people who lost. The owner of the company escaped with people's money.)

Yeah from what I have learned about mlms they seem to require an intitial investment and a continued commitment to purchase every month so I haven't really given them too much thought but lately things have been pushing me towards trying to find alternate forms of income and mlms kept coming up.
